By this does he mean what some people call Chine-Walking....where the back end starts to "fishtail" like a truck on slick roads??? I think maybe the spelling is off too....porpoise (like the animal???). Not being a smart @*#....just trying to figure out what you guys mean. Does it do this at low speeds on plane or just higher speeds? On the Triton I mentioned I can steer through chine-walking....which starts happening about 67-68 mph.

Porpoising, is what the Industry calls it when the bow of the boat go up and down and can't be stopped until the boat is trimmed down, that's the best way I can describe it, you can go on Bass Boat Central and type in porpoising and they can tell it better than I can

Ahh....thanks for the explanation Gary.....just never had that happen. Sounds like it mostly happens in smaller boats with smaller motors. From what I read putting more weight in the front COULD be a simple and cheap solution.

you can find out what it is, get your boat up on plain get it trimmed out and cruisin, then slow to about 3000 or 3500 rpms with out trimming it down and keeping the boat on plain, if its like most boats Ive been in it will porpoise
