The only thing I know about it is the windows calendar seems not to be there ....My daughter used the calendar on her old machine and she can't find it on the new windows.

In another post I asked about printers and Bob referred me to another site that had an ad for Windows 7 at the top. Actually, since my printer is going bad and my whole set up is more than five years old, I am thinking I just may get a new computer also.
What I am wondering is, has anyone got/used Windows 7 yet, and if so, how do you like it? Good points and/bad points?
Thanks

I got the wife a new laptop with windows 7 for Christmas and she is very happy with it. The wife always has had a hard time in the past getting the hang of new software but she seams to have not had any trouble. It wont take long and you will enjoy yours. In another post I asked about printers and Bob referred me to another site that had an ad for Windows 7 at the top. We purchased a new printer back in November and we love it. It is a HP Officejet 6500 Wireless. It saves paper by printing on both sides, it faxes it scans, you can set it anywhere (wireless) and I don't think that it uses a lot of ink compared to our older one.
I'm sure there are a lot of nice all in one printers out there just telling you about the one we have.
Good luck,
Dave
Windows 7 is VERY GOOD........probably Microsoft's best OS in a LONG, LONG time.
I think it is basically Windows Vista with all the bugs fixed, etc, etc. Much like Windows 98 was the fix to windows ME and 95.
I have a few issues......namely some older hardware and software simply doesn't work, but all in all I'm REALLY happy with it.
MOST older stuff will run, and when you use the compatibility options with the OS, if Windows 7 finds problems and requires the product to run in compatibility mode, it does that in a "protected" window. It cannot CRASH the computer. Much better than the past.
It also seems to be much better performance wise than Vista. If you had a machine that ran XP pretty good, it would be a dog running Vista. That same machine, if you can find drivers that work, will run Windows 7 just as good as XP.
I REALLY like it.

I would have to agree. I just got a dell with windows 7. I was using vista on my old laptop and windows 7 runs alot better. I am still getting use to it's features but right now it's getting a big thumbs up.Windows 7 is VERY GOOD........probably Microsoft's best OS in a LONG, LONG time.

Have you ever heard of MAC ? They are GREAT!!!![]()
I have a 2009 HP s2207h Vista (Pavilion) computer, VGA and HDMI inputs, high-definition video support, Widescreen flat-panel monitor with BrightView panel, 22" diagonal widescreen viewing area. The Windows program that came with it was a Windows 2007 "free sample" good for 30 days. I went to Office Depot and bought the Microsoft Office, Home, and Student, 2007 (latest) program. It has Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007 and OneNote 2007. It has Windows Calendar; just click on "Start" and read the dropdown list of programs and you will find it. At the bottom of my list there is a place that says "All Programs" and it will give a very long list. It has fabulous features in just about everything needed for home PCs.In another post I asked about printers and Bob referred me to another site that had an ad for Windows 7 at the top. I have a HP Officejet 6310v - All-in-One printer. It has fax with junk fax blocker, copy, photo, and scan. I don't remember what I paid for the computer but I think it was about $900 and the printer was about $140.
I get constant updates and recently received a notice that said my Microsoft Windows 7 had been upgraded to Microsoft Windows 8. I was aware of a glitch in Windows 7 but never had a problem and had read that a patch was available. The automatic update applied the patch and I don't know if that is what they are calling Windows 8 or if they downloaded the new program to take care of potential problems with Windows 7.
I was in Walmart recently and saw the same computer and printer that I have and they cost less than I paid at Office Depot. I have not had any problems with mine and really enjoy it. I hope this information will be helpful to you in the choice you make and the features you enjoy.

Hey bug..........I think you're getting Windows 7 and Office 2007 mixed up a little.
Office 2007 probably did have an upgrade to 2008, and I suspect that is what you're talking about, but I can assure you there is no Windows 8, or Windows 2008. There is a Windows Server 2008, but that is a different beast all together.

Thansk all, for the information on Windows 7 and Printers, I appreciate it. I feel easier about changing now.
