I didnt even know it was on although on the Tv's program schedule there was a program called Obama but I didnt look to see what it was about. I really cant listen to him anymore cuz he is such a good speaker that he can really charm the ice from the Eskimos. I think his speaking ability really won people over but it is no longer working. People are listening to what he actually says and not just the smooth way he speaks and that big smile of his. He should be in sales. He would make a fortune.

Well to each his own but to me it was typical B.S. They have not asked nor wanted any input on anything all year and have thrown stones at the public and anyone else for that matter for letting them know what they felt about their policies. They planned to shove it down our throats bribes and all and we were suppose to say thank you to them for it. He spoke about transparency again just like he did on the campaign trail. Did we get it then? NO. So forgive me if I doubt anything he has to say on the matter. He preached about no lobbyists on the campaign trail and what did he do after getting elected? Yep appointed lobbyists. So I won't give him any credit on that subject either. He sure didn't discuss treating terrorist like U.S citizens. And he might as well not because I am not going to ever agree with their policy in that regards.
It all comes down to this for me "don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining."

Im just going to make this first comment brief; I could go deeper, but Im not...Being an independent myself...and voted for McCain & Bush... I haven't missed a State of the Union address in the past 20+ years...every word...every sentence, never left the TV for a second...gave them all a fair shake. What I heard last night was maybe the best State of the Union adresses I've ever heard in my intire life!...And to do it with no cue cards...no notes was maybe one of the most unbelievable things I've even seen. I've never seen anyting like it, or come close. I remember Presedent Ragan gave a speech that was almost as good...and both were talking about the same thing. And they will continue to say the same thing..until we can get a president that will change Washinton..and he is trying to do just that! Presedent Obama is our President...he is mine and yours; what he said last night came from his heart..And all he said about "the people" and how we feel...is exactatly how I feel, he hit it right on the nose for me!!!...All the beckering...and posturing..."what is in it for me" attitude has got to stop. He humbled himself at least 3 times...he stepped on some toes that needed it...and called a few out that didn't like it...But all in all guys...he wants Washinton to work for the people..not their own interest..not what is good for the Republicans..or Demecrats...
He left no stone unturned last night,................ if you watched it all...
I have the upmost respect for my presedent... and what he is trying to accomplish in Washington. Like I said...I didn't vote from him...I don't like the money the Dems are spending...But for me...he had to set the record strait last night...and he did that for me. Like he said last night...if anybody has better ideas...better ways we can make things improve for the people of America....jobs...health care...budget...what ever...put it on his desk, and he will take an honist and hard look at. He is trying to put us first..not the Blue Bloods in Washington....com'on man!!!!!

Mr. Obama can't make even a short speech without teleprompters, let alone one an hour and 10 minutes long. Even left winger Jon Stewart slammed him for having 2 teleprompters when he made a short speech from an elementary school classroom recently.

With all due respect brother, if you believe he made that speech straight out of his head it's no wonder you voted for Mr. Obama. If you believe it all came from his heart, you'll be voting for your president again.

Mr Reagan's message could not possibly have been more different than the President's last night.

He had closed door sessions without GOP input on this Healthcare Bill. He pushed a huge stimulus bill through without taking the time to actually read and understand what the money was going to do, or how it was being spent.

Reember he was gonna take control of the terrible spendiing habits of the GOP? Well he did and surpassed them 10 times over (not sure of the amount). He is trying to cram a Healthcare Bill down out throats and who wants that? Uhh almost noone since we have to pay for years before the thing takes effect and then it's only another gubment program to throw money at and they never address the real problems with healthcare.

He quoted the Congressional Budget Office as saying health care legislation could “bring down the deficit by as much as $1 trillion” over the next 20 years. But CBO has made clear that’s a soft and uncertain estimate.
He said that when he took office, the deficit already was projected to total $8 trillion over the next 10 years. But the estimate is from his own Office of Management and Budget; the CBO put the figure at trillions less.
He said he believes a Supreme Court decision will allow foreign corporations to spend in U.S. elections. Perhaps so, but it actually did not address a law still on the books forbidding any foreign-based corporation from spending on electioneering here.
We also scoured the Republican response delivered by Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell. He doctored a Thomas Jefferson quote — omitting Jefferson’s endorsement of government action to protect people from injury. McDonnell also overstated the speed with which the national debt is growing.

Dear Mr Obama:

I enjoyed listening to you last night. I do have a couple questions if you have a minute or two to spare.

Jobs: How come we are trying to find ways to make small and large business hire more people when we haven't sorted out all the thiefs at the banks that caused most of this mess, and aren't making loans to business that do need the money to run and expand? How come we want privately owned buisness to hire more people, when the 13 FEDERAL government agencies included the DOD that I have apllied to for literally hundreds of jobs are all saying they aren't hiring because of budget cuts and hiring freezes. Set the example....hire feds, if for no other reason than to chase down all the croooks at the banks and all the freeloaders that don't pay taxes.

Health care: YES, so long as its strictly a federal funded OPTION, that competes with the rest of the hoodlums. Stop stupid medical litigation? How do you do that? Can you really dictate the law to judges?

War on terrorism and Nuclear weapons control: One answers the other. To get rid of our nukes, lets use them on any state or govt that has terrorists in their contry and is not routing them out. Once used, don't repalce the nuke, their by reducing the inventory.

I do think you hit one nail on the head. What are Americans most concerned with? In order, jobs, then med care, then taxes, then terrorists. Why in that order? If I don't work, I don't have any med benefits, and couldn't buy some cause I got no income. If working and drawing a check, then I need affordable health care so I can keep more of the money I earn for my family. And don't tax me to death when I'm working, or I won't be able to pay for my health care. Terrorists.....if I'm dead, killed by one of these goof balls, I no longer got to worry about taxes, jobs, or my health. Refer to comments on arms control.

I'm with ya sir, but don't make me wait to much longer for all this stuff that sounds so good. This is starting to sound a little like one of thsoe great car buying deals on TV. They never have any of them left when I get there.
