    Palin Book

    Well I finished it this morning and was wanting more. Reading that last half of the book made me think she has been reading some of our posts! Regardless of your party affiliation I think we want what she wants. Smaller Gubment, less spending, energy independance and a gubment that works for the people not themselves.

    Look at what she did in Alaska! She destroyed a corrupt GOP group and stood up to and beat Exxon/mobile on issues. Truely amazing the things she did that no ther Gov. in the US can say they have done for their state.

    She was railroaded plain and simple. She was a threat so they attacked her chartacter and family. I now understand why she stepped down. The attacks and lawsuits continued from left wing groups to the point she could not fend them off and tons of Alaskan tax payer money and her time was spent defending and proving all the allegations wrong. She was headed to financial ruin because the state of Alaska does not pay for the "ethical" lawsuits against Governors. She has beat them all but at a cost of over 500k (I believe) that she didn't have

    Did you know that since she lost the VP race she has to pay 50K. This would be paid by the GOP if they had won but nope they lost so it's her bill to pay. Never heard of that before.

    It's so disappointing to read about the things done to her and her family by the media and Dem party. They attacked her and still do which says so much about them being afraid of her beleifs. She was a Reagan fan BIG TIME and I love her for that. What a woman...

    I have the book at home but haven't started reading it yet...kind of taking a break in between books.

    From what I've heard on the news she hasn't ruled out running for POTUS, but she hasn't said she will either. I hope she does.

    It never gets old hearing how scared/afraid the Dems are of Palin.

    I guess the right is still scared/afraid of ol Al Gore because they attack and talk about him non stop. I actually musted the strength to watch Fox TMZ (I mean News) for about 20 min last night and heard Al Gores name 4 or 5 times and none were in a positive manner. Has to be FEAR right?

    Oh yeah Karl Rove says hi, so don't act like it's just one party that plays these games.

    No surprise but I differ from your views on personal attacks from the left compared to the right.

    I don't really know of anyone's family that got attacked like hers do you? If so remind me cause I don't.

    Al Gore is not a threat but I get your point. Palin is a huge threat and I really believe anyone who follows politics knows that something is brewing with her.

    Awww come on man you know the discussions we have had over the last year about the "change" and how Barry was gonna do this and that. He has done alot of talk and had alot of failure and it has taken it's toll.

    In one year the Grand Ol Democratic Party has crumbled in failure and could actually lose alot of seats in this mid term election. That's not me talking thats the country brother. We will see and I hope that whoever gets in actually starts working for us cause' we have litlle options left but to get TAXED to death at the present rate of trying to spend our way out of debt.

    I'm not going to get into why Palin's family was brought into the national spotlight because it is a touchy subject. It was unprecedendted and the media ran with it. I personally could have cared less about it. I'm all for leaving familes out of politicis and yes that includes Obamas fathers side as well, which the right turned over every rock looking for something if you'll remember.

    Hate to let you down about all the failures Obama has had but you should read this.

    If the economy gets turned around all will be forgotten, we as Americans have short attention spans and are always in the mindset of "what have you done for me lately?".

    I'm all for the two parties having to work together because that's usually when things atleast get somewhat done right.

    Quick edit to add that I also didn't know you had to pay back a set amount of $$ if your party lost. Seems kind of odd.

    Re: Palin Book

    Man I'm sorry but what does that mean? LOL...Is it just saying that the men and women from his party that worshiped "change" voted with him? If so what actually passed and affected us? I am honestly asking and if I'm having a brain fart please be easy on me..LOL.

    If the economy gets turned around? It will because thats just the way it works but at what cost? Stimulus money, printing money or taxing people? Pick one or all three to get us moving and if so my opinion would be it turned in spite of his plan not because of it. Give people more of their money through real tax cuts, get the Bush tax cuts back, cut capitol gains get rid of the death tax and watch what happens. Trying to force jobs on us by spending trillions does not work.

    I'm already taxed more and he said that wouldn't happen. My fear is that next year we will get hit even harder.

    Agreed his father and mother was a topic but I still say it was different. Because of the Muslim connection and the extreme Muslim attacks on our country and service members. His name and associations had to make someone stop and take notice....we had no choice.

    No biggie to me either way because unless he finds a way stop the sinking boat he is the Captain of he is done. His allies are leaving him in a protection mode of the mid term elections and even Chuck Schumer is talking back to him.

    Cap and trade=bust
    Healthcare=bust
    Gitmo closing=bust
    Tax break for 95% of middle class=bust
    terrorist trials=bust
    stimulus=bust

    Considering most people do not agree with anything that congress has done and have a very low opinion of them. I would not want to be the posterchild for their victories or failures.

    Re: Palin Book

    I wasn't trying to point out the greatness that is Obama just that the Fox News doom and gloom crowd seem to be consumed with the failures just like the left would be if it was the other way around, you know the "game". And hey ol Bushy was up there in the 80% in 2001 , I'm sure that put a smile on your face.

    Well the economy is in a historically low spot so there is really no where to go but up, so the question is how long (1 year, 2....) will it take before it gets back to a somewhat stable place where people can find jobs....? This is where the short attention spans kicks in because the longer it lingers towards 2012 the worse it gets for him.

    I am curious if you guys think McCain could have stopped unemployment from reaching 10% or had the economy turned around by now? This is not a attempt to defend anything Obama has done (increased the deficit) or hasn't done just a question.

    YES........It has been done time and again, and Obama could easily take a couple pages out of historical playbooks and significantly lower unemployment, but doing so would require him to lower taxes, and CUT silly ass subsidies.

    AND we know the Obamunists cannot do that. LOWERING taxes, and eliminating handouts would basically alienate 20 percent of his voting base. He'd be a FOOL to do that.

    BUT yea.....I think McCain could have had WOULD HAVE kept unemployment from reaching 10%.

    * Lower TAXES, or extend the BUSH cuts
    * Incentives for Small Businesses
    * FREEZE on Gubment Spending

    Instead, what did we get from the Obamunists:

    * Highest Deficit in history ( 1-2 trillion, depending on who you ask).
    * LARGEST tax increase on those over 250K in YEARS.
    * Largest growth in GUBMENT Agencies in 30 years.
    * 2500 page GARBAGE Health Care Bill.

    Later,

    Geo

    Re: Palin Book

    Personally, I don't feel either party has been focused enough on the reduction of spending. I wasn't so much in favor of Mccain as I was against Obama for various reasons we won't get into. I do however feel that Mccain would not have went so far with the spending and would have pulled back mainly due to public opinion on the subject. Public opinion of our Nations financial status plays a major role in our economy. That is were Obama dropped the ball IMO. I do not think he has helped foster a good mindset for the public or business owners. I think he should have focused more on the economy and debt reduction and not waste a year on a total healthcare overhaul. That being said I hold congress to blame more so than any one person. Having legislation that everyone is unsure how it will effect them or their business did major damage to job creation. Everyone knows you don't get something for nothing and that it was going to cost one way or another. And with the excessive national debt it leads people to believe more taxes are coming to pay for it (and there will be). So business owners and individuals save their dough and wait and see what's going to happen. So that's where the economy is. Everyone is waiting with a death grip on their money, if they have any left.
