How did your boat do? What kind of work did you do to it?

Took the boat down to Taylorsville yesterday. I've done a lot of work to it over the winter and mainly just wanted to try everything out. Water temps ranged from 48-52 degrees. Found lots of shad breaking shallow but no bass. Couple of guys at the dock had a little better luck than me but didn't sound like anyone did great.

Went through the carbs late last season. Moved the old Lowrance from the transom to the tm, put a new Hummingbird 570 on the back. Blew out my alarm horn on the forward controls last year so had to replace it. I put new tires on the trailer a cleaned everything up. It left me stranded on Guist a couple weeks back but I think I've got it going now.
Hello James , I didnt catch your name at the ramp but I got it now , I talked with you on the ramp I was wipping down the ranger next to you....Small world , Dont give up on Taylorsville its about to get going . If you ever want to wet a line drop me a line. Jarrod Swift
Jarrod, It has gotten better over the course of the last few days. I went out last Wednesday and did nto get a bite. Fished Sunday in the USA Bassin and it took 12.22 to win, 6.06 was second and 3.35 was third, big fish was 3.35. See ya on the water.

Does anyone know what they were biting on Sunday?
Jarrod,
I’ve heard that lake is tuff but I’m going to stick it out and try and learn it, as long as I can keep that old boat running! I’ve got a Wife in Grad school and a 7 month old so I need a lake that’s close to the house since its tuff to find the time for an all day trip. I grew up fishing but I’ve gotten away from it with college and work over the past few years. This year I’ve decided to make time for it and really get back into it. I’m going to try and join a bass club and maybe fish a few tourneys since I’ve heard both are a great way to learn. I’d love to hit the lake with you sometime if we can. I work Banker’s hours so have a few evenings/days off through the week every month. Shoot me a pm sometime and we try and work it out.

the largest size crappie minners you can get,can load the boat."skillet" with some tasty bass fillets.may even get a catfish or hybred to boot.
Wow Marty, 12 plus this early in the year is NICE.........Who won? How many boats? Im looking forward to fishing the tourneys this year , Its been a long, cold winter. I Had a couple nice ones saturday but I couldnt find any crappies................James I recieved your IM , Jarrod
My father and grandfather fished Taylorsville for years before I was old enough to do so. It was only about four years ago before I was asked by a friend of mine to fish the lake with him. We fished some tournaments that year, won one, and placed well in a few. I always enjoyed fishing the lake and I realized with the pressure it gets both recreational and fishing wise, for the way the lake lays I always thought it was very productive. I believe every fish I caught there was a keeper, and even though it was a little tough it is worth it and I wouldn't be discouraged.
Glad you got everything going on your boat...I have a little flat bottom aluminum boat that I have been messing with for a few years now, so I know how it is when you want everything to go right out there on the lake...Good luck with your fishing this year!!!
Hey there Jarrod, this is Jason not sure if you remember me or not(small flat bottom boat)...How is that little one doing? Look forward to seeing you out on ole TVILLE this year...I'm probably gonna fish the monday morning big fish and the friday night 3 fish tourney. Maybe we can get together this year and wet a line for some fun...Jason
