Hey check with wally world .Last time I was there they had it for 19.94 a gallon. Bought 3 cases It is the quick silver but the dealer said it is the same that merc marketed it to retail stores as quick silver and optimax oil merc brand to dealers.

The BP at Canton has been my supply of bulk optimax oil for several years but I stopped by Saturday and they don't carry it any more. Does anyone know someone that sells bulk oil in the big lakes or Louisville areas? That stuff is expensive enough and I hate the thought of $30/gallon...

Fine if you're using Quick Silver in your Opti. Personally my OWNERS MANUAL for my opti states.......Mercury DFI, Quick Silver DFI. It says I can use Premium Plus.....IF the others are not available.
You can pour the oils out into a cup and SEE the viscosity differences. If you think the stuff is the same, fine........it is NOT.
I use premium plus in my old 7.5 and 9.9 hp 2 cycle motors. The OPTI DFI is not even close to premium plus.
The guy ASKED where to get DFI, I told him.

Premium plus and DFI are not the same. I believe jbryd mistook the diff between Merc Premium plus and Quicksilver premium plus( an honest mistake).
My Dad buys all his oil in bulk from M&C outboards on Preston Hwy between Hillview and Shepherdsville.
CHEAP 2-cycle Blue Gallon Jug of oil from Wally World is all I have ever put in my Mercury since 2003. No problems and at $10 a gallon will have a few more bucks to spend at the lake. My last couple of gallons of bulk oil was free for I stole them out of Geo's truck a few weeks ago.
