Doug you're only pulling a 20' bass boat....forget the diesel, it's over kill for what you need. Yes, the diesel has plenty of pulling power I don't disagree, but it's over kill.

I have 24' Sea Ray Cruiser with a bed, refrigerator, stove, kitchen sink, 350 v8, etc...and all I pull it with is one of two vehicles. Either 97 model 1/2 ton 5.7L (350) Chevy 4 x 4...or...a Suburban 4 x 4 with a 5.0L (327). I prefer to use the Suburban instead of my pick up...the Suburban has a great turning radius and was made to tow a boat.

In most cases pulling ain't the issue but stopping is...make sure whatever you tow with is able to stop safely with your rig in tow.

I pull my 20' bass boat with a Jeep Cherokee V6. Doesn't seem to have any problems. I don't think you need anything overly powerful for a bass boat.

    Re: need different truck.

Doug I pulled that Stratos a couple of times to Dale, you saw my pick-up. 06 F-250 Powerstroke. Never had to kick the passing gear in and would average 15-16 mpg, keeping it under 70 mph. You saw the rods and tackle I kept in the boat, pretty heavy package. Not saying you need a diesel just giving my opinion. No such thing as overkill IMHO.

Quit supporting Obama Motors and buy a 2007 or above Toyota Tundra with the 5.7 liter. It will last forever with no problems.

I will second the comment about brilliant thought. I have a 1985 GM 4x4 I use on the farm and it has been abused and abused, but it sitll is very much operational. The air conditioning is still ice cold. I never see any Toyotas from the 80s or even early 90s' All the clunkers that were on the road? 99% were early 80s GMs and Fords.

Try pulling a 9000 lb farm tractor with that toyota? Ever wonder why on the interstate any 5th wheel or big camper, big boat or any big trailer is being pulled by a good old american pick up???

    Because Toyota's won't pull crappyola!!!!

You are the real problem with America, bashing your neighbors and your Country.

Why don't you imigrate to North Korea????
