well to be honest the Ohio has not been good to me since ive been boatless. my motor is not realy up to par and eveyone knows its no place to be with a half A!$ running motor. every time i go i get skunked or catch one small fish if im lucky. 1st proble is it seems no matter how much weight i use my bait doesnt wanna stay on the bottom, it just rolls around until i get hung up. 2nd is i cant seem to locate hardly any decent spot to fish from the bank. i know the falls would more than likely be the desired spot but im leaving more lead and hooks there because of problem number 1. just seems i cant win from the shore and im letting my mind get the best of me. any advice on some other spots from the bank or how to keep the bait on the bottom or am i letting my aggravation get the best of me ? IDK but any advice , tips would be much appreciated. ive got to spend a weekend getting my motor up to speed and get off the shore or at least thats what my concious is telling me
have u tried mcalpine? and i use 4-5 once sinkers you need a heavy duty rod for the fast current the big cats dont seem to mind picking up 5 oz and running with your bait its alot diffrent from lake fishinwell to be honest the Ohio has not been good to me since ive been boatless. my motor is not realy up to par and eveyone knows its no place to be with a half A!$ running motor. every time i go i get skunked or catch one small fish if im lucky. How big of a motor do you need?
ive used a little 25hp ive had for years and its been acting up a little. theres been times where id run from the ramp up to the dam and have to use the trolling motor to drift back cause it wouldnt start. ive replaced and cleanded up everything i know of that would cause it to run like this and it still does it.
Well King,,i`m moving back the end of july and gave away my 14ft lund with a good 25 on the back...LOL Get ahold of me and I`ll take you to the river and catch a few...
