    Re: Ohio River Stripers?

Who has signs posted? Where is the law that shows I can't fish a navitable waterway? I can see in a privately owned marina, but not in the creek its self.

That's what they mean, the Captain's Quarters privately owned marina itself. Anywhere else you're fine.

Where did you do your saltwater fishing? I grew up in Delaware, fished all around that area, and some up in New England.

Does anyone here fish for and catch Striped Bass on the Ohio river?

I know Cumberland is a great place to fish for them, but the river is right out my back door. Any advise would greatly be appeciated on how, where, time of year, bait etc. I have always liked fishing live bait and I have seen plenty of shad in the river. Are there Stripers in the river?

I have heard behind the damns, but I am using a not so small boat. Again any ideas or advice will be greatly appreciated. Anyone troll for them around here?

I am in Louisville, thanks again.
Hi,,I`ve been fishing the river for 30 yrs,,if you`d like to go out with me I`ll show you around and show you where and how we catch the stripers,,,

Yeah, that makes since. I'm sure all the boaters don't like having fishing gear caught in there props, etc. Only thing I really do back in the marinas is catch bait with a net.

I fished long island sound for years and did alot of offshore stuff out of long Island. Then when I was in the service, I was stationed in jacksonville Nc. Did alot of offshore stuff down there too. I hope I can get the hang of this fresh water fishing, its really all new to me.

Thanks for the invite, I may just take you up on that. Its funny, you look just like a guy I use to do some offshore trips with. When do you fish?

I saw some huge pods of bait fish tonite about half way between 12 mile and 18. I got some got pictures of the fish on my depthfinders. They were huge pods. They were jumping all over the place.

Seems like we have some things in common. Just got done remodeling a houseboat for a customer. I also do boat repairs of all kinds as sidework. I'm a remodeling contractor. Anyway, your boat or mine? I can pretty much make my own schedule right now to. Budd
