Guys, you really need to watch this............

It is a REAL HIT JOB............If even 10% of this is true, I've made up my decision. Romney is NO longer on my a list..........May even sit it out if he becomes the nomination.

Re: I like Romney, but this makes him look like a DOUCHE

I watched the whole thing. I'm surprised Michael Moore's name didn't roll across the credits. Geo, don't lose sight of what you know to be true.

My opinion: This is a well funded, well constructed video...with a lot of Hollywood (cue the dramatic music) used to tug at your heart strings and pull you in to the micro level negative of what is, unfortunately, business. You're seeing some people in small town America that lost their jobs and are bitter about it, understandably so. Nobody wants to hear the tough stories of folks who have lost their jobs and are struggling to survive. They think Romney pulled the rug out from under them and took their means for making a dollar away....which makes for great ammo for this documentary. BUT, what if it was actually POOR MANAGEMENT by their former owners/bosses that was causing their companies to perform poorly, not make enough money, and be on the block for being gobbled up by an equity firm? Equity firms survive on making profit from companies that are struggling. If these places were such great companies, with such great products, and such great people - Why were they struggling in the first place? Of course these employees on the video are upset. Wouldn't you be? You lost your job. You wanted it to be there forever, regardless of how good the company was actually performing.

Businesses are in things to make a profit and satisfy shareholders. Private Equity Firms are actually a pretty vital part of our economy. The group who made this video, and subsequently supports Newt Gingrich, is taking the overtone of "America Hates Wall Street Greed" and pinning Romney as a greedy Wall Street insider.

OK, there are 4 examples in this video of small firms that were bought...restructured...some of them sold off and/or shut down. Folks, that happens. It happens a lot. Call it Darwinism, survival of the fittest, whatever...sometimes that big fish eats the small fish. Some gotta win, some gotta lose. When you are the loser, it *****, and you're bitter. The video talks about the jobs lost, but makes no mention of any jobs created elsewhere by Bain Capital's activities. NET NET, what if more jobs were created than were destroyed? (I don't know if this is true....and I don't quite believe Romney's 100K jobs created figure.) Yes, it's bad for those who lost their jobs...but good for others who picked up jobs...and NET NET better for the country and economy if at the end of the day there were more jobs than when we started. What if for every upset person on this video who lost their job, their were 2 others elsewhere who gained jobs and benefited? Where are those interviews? Who cares if some fat cats at equity firms got fatter along the way because they had the cash/means/nature to handle the assets? Like it or not, the World's gotta have some fat cats with some pocket books to open.

Now, is there a greed line...yes. Romney is rich. Aint no doubt about that. He's also not squeaky clean, I'm sure. BUT, do you honestly think BARACK OBAMA is a better alternative? Romney gets the nomination, you sit out and don't vote, Obama gets the win. We're certainly not in better shape IMO.

The Republicans, with stuff like this, are putting nails in their own coffin for November. Obama is sitting back and loving every minute of it. This is a well-constructed 30 minute long campaign ad...from one Republican to another Republican, with love.

Re: I like Romney, but this makes him look like a DOUCHE

I understand what you are saying, but the Marion stuff brings back a whole lot of memories of my childhood.

Reminds me a whole hell a lot of what happened to my town of Muncie. While there is plenty of blame to go around and UNIONS and labor have a lot to do with that........there were quite a few companies that changed hands a few times. If the kind of money changed hands like what is described in this video......WELL, that is wrong.

Nothing wrong with making a buck. We ALL want to....but raiding and DESTROYING a company for a buck is WRONG, and is what is wrong with this country.

It cannot ALWAYS be about a buck.

I will NOT vote for Romney in the primaries........I will vote for him for President if it comes to that. Obamunism has been tried for 4 years.......it doesn't work either......

Couldn't watch the whole POS. I learned enough after reading the posts and watching the first 10 minutes.
Makes me wonder when someone will make a video like this about obamy and GM. How many dealerships closed after he and the gubment took over?
The pubs are cutting eachother deep but I think all will be ok once the nominee is elected. The dems did the same hurtful crap when they were trying to select obamy or Hillary. Once that race was over the mending and healing took place and look where we are.

Just WAIT.......the money behind this.......at least the REPUBLICAN MONEY will be creative pounding on obama.

If you think you are sick with politics now, wait.......when we have the definitive front runner, I will be making SERIOUS donations towards that candidate to beat the OBAMUNISTS.......

Me posting this video was all about "is it true" 90% can be bull, but if 10% of it is true, and I suspect it is.........then THAT disgusts me almost as much as what Obama is doing to our country.

Re: I like Romney, but this makes him look like a DOUCHE

The Sunday morning talking heads are all squawking about this commercial...

Lindsay Graham from SC said that attacking capitalism and equity firms was not the answer at all, but that it was not unreasonable to expect Romney to elaborate on and prove his 100K jobs created claim. Any of the Republican candidates would be better than 4 more years of the Obama train wreck.

    I think that's fair.

Re: I like Romney, but this makes him look like a DOUCHE

For sure the time is coming that Obamy gets his turn of being in the crosshairs of the GOP gun of destruction. I just hope they don't hold back. The race card is gonna play a huge role again and I hope they plan on dealing with that as well. Race has no place in the decision making for president but the dems made it so. The black leaders will be accusing anyone who doesnt like obamy as racists.....i dont know how to diffuse that? My opinion is that somewhere in obamys mind he wants the distinction of being the second black president to make history again.
The commercials that are gonna be coming have little to do with truth but more on the perception of truth. I don't have a problem with the GOP candidate having some not so favorable truths about him since anything is better than 4 more years of a man who ran the office of POTUS as a weekend with mom and dads credit card. Think about it....he had to be concerned with being re-elected and still pushed crap down our throats. Imagine what he would try when he has nothing to be concerned with?? Geez....god help us!

Romney is a douchbag George if this video is at all correct which i am sure it is that he was Ceo of Bain and closed down company that the average working man and woman worked at. Romney and his type is why unions were formed in the first place. Dont blame unions. Blame the Romneys of the world who mistreated workers.I hate greedy ******** like him making millions off the distruction of the average working person. He should not be presidential material. He will only help the filthy rich.

Well Gills...this may be true...but who else do we have to pick from, who would be your next choice? Please don't say Nobama.

No not Obama again. He had his chance but Hillary didnt. I cant believe the Republicans cant find a good strong leader. I wonder if John McCain is still interested? He looks younger and healthier than that Ron Paul guy. I think if the people want a Democrat in then Hillary would do better.
