The man caught a 25 lb Blue Cat on a 4" Sexy Spoon fishing a ledge on Ky Lake. Then catches a 1 1/2 lb Redear on a shaky head plus a Smallmouth, White Bass and MANY Largemouth. Plus he tried to snag a 3' Grass Pickerel to boot.

The state record grass pickerel is only 5lbs. The state record chain pickerel is only .63 lb.

I was told a few years back the toothy critters that love to spawn right about now in Ky and Barkley were Grass Pickerel. Obviously they are not if the State record is 5 lb. Whatever the creatures were with the snouts full of teeth that like Spinnerbaits are, John tried to catch one of them as well

elwood you ever fish on the river side. when me and mike was down there we decided to fish it just for kicks the morning we left. fished a couple hours on the rip rap and caught a few white bass then all of a sudden something hit and ran like beast strait behind the boat. it was a monster whatever it was and i couldn't even get it to turn once. never saw it but definatly a beast. Any clue to what it might have been?

would it not just be a gar? they will hit at a spinnerbait if you roll it right in front of them.

I have tryed too catch gar with a spinner bait & they don't even look at it for me......
