Bengals season starts Monday night at Baltimore.
The Baltimore team owner just recently passed away. He was also owner of the old Cleveland Browns.
Bengals have the third youngest roster in the league.
This is the best Bengals team I have ever seen in 30 plus years. Should be a exciting season.

There is a lot of young talent on this team and I love Dalton and A.J. Green, but I don't think I would call this the best Bengals team ever, not even close in my mind. The Boomer and Ickey team that lost in the last seconds of the Super Bowl to the Joe Montana guy is still the best Bengals team I have seen.
Mark, I am torn on the issue of Marvin Lewis. He took this team from the worst team in the NFL to two-time division champs and three playoff appearances. Barring injury to Carson Palmer a few years ago I think they would have made a third Super Bowl appearance and probably beaten the Seahawks. On the flip side he hasn't won a playoff game, but there has been marginal success. If he had a real GM to run the team I think his career would be a lot better.
Well they got blown out by Baltimore.
The Bengals played good but had a offensive meltdown halfway into the 3rd. I'm sure they'll bounce back just fine.
Baltimore is being hyped as the new elite team in the AFC so this loss isn't so bad. Be nice if the score was closer but second year QB mistakes killed um.
Positives I saw,
D-line able to get into the backfield
Running game looked great
Dalton was very sharp until his 3rd quarter meltdown
Tim I think this team would squash the 89 Super Bowl team.
I saw a great comparison on ESPN trying to tout how this years Alabama University would squash the 89 forty niners championship team. I think their right on. Every year the game gets faster and faster. Now teams aren't even huddling,375Lb lineman that run like the wind.
The Bungles ride again...............
I think my new team is the Bronco's.
Peyton at QB
Elvis Dummerville from Louisville
Woodyard from Kentucky
Tammie from Kentucky
Tracy Porter from Indiana
They might beat them, but they wouldn't squash them. That is an unfair comparison. The only way to comare teams of different era's is how they compared against their contemporaries of the time. Doing that, this Bengals teams would not be allowed in the locker room with the 89 team, absolutely no comparison.Well they got blown out by Baltimore.

I hear ya. The word "squash" was a little too much. But what I really meant is just win a ball game. That is what matters in the end rather by one or fifty. They might beat them, but they wouldn't squash them. That is an unfair comparison. Watching the last two quarters of the game on DVR,,,,those last couple drives Bengals got,,,second and short a couple times and third and short a couple times.....Each time Gruden Calls pass......At this point they were way behind but I wish he would've just ran the ball to get the first and continue with the possession instead of trying to throw it and having to punt. This is reminding me of Bratkowski. Thought Green-Ellis looked very sharp and should have gotten way more carries.
Going into the bye week the Bengals have bungled to a three and four record.
I'll admit, I over rated this defense. Cover corners Pacman Jones and Newman have looked solid at times but are not making plays. Leon Hall has played decent but no big plays either and after knee surgery probably figure he will never get back to where he was as one of the more dominant corners in the league.
Middle Linebacker Rey Malaluga has played extremely poor and at times just looks plain under talented. They got two other backers one being a non drafted rookie that look to have more talent and play making abilities.. Yet Malaluga continues to get all the starts and most reps.
The offense has stalled out. B.Scott being out has hurt a bit. Still seeing pass plays on third and two or less.
If I were Mike Brown I'd trade a 2nd round pick for Micheal Bush and this team would run the ball 85% of time on third and three or less. Been saying for years in order for them to compete year after year in their division they have to have a humungous short yardage back.
Lewis MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enough, they s u c k and need to direction...
lol!!
Their only one game under with nine more games to go. They can turn it around. After the bye week we will see the 17th overall pick get to play for first time and Brian Leonard the third down back should return.
After the bye week they play the Broncos and Peyton! yikes!!!
It is funny you mention Brian Leonard. When he was at Rutgers they had him and Ray Rice. They came into Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium and jumped on the Cardinal Bird before the game. Louisville blew them out, but what I remember about the game was Leonard, coming down the sideline and one of the Louisville defensive backs wwent to tackle him and Leonard hurdled him like he was in the olympics. It was absolutely one of the more athletic plays I have seen in person.
