We had 15 sauger, had 2-15", rest were 12-14", 10 big crappie, up to 14", most were 11-12".
Also caught at least 30 white bass. I also caught a 15" ky bass, and a 14" smallmouth.
I caught most of mine on a blade bait 3/4 oz. Drop shot with a minnow did well too.
Water temps 41° and stained to muddy, 3' above summer pool.

Wow, thats impressive to catch that many crappie in the river and to catch them that big. Dandies for sure. Were all those white bass or did you get any hybrids? I was fishing from the bank with my boy the first part of Oct. and most of what we caught were small hybrids. Just a couple of white bass. We did pretty well on spotted bass including one that was near 15 inches. We only got one sauger. I'm hoping to take him again this saturday if the water isn't muddy. Thanks for the report. I always look for your reports.
i think we had a couple of hybrids, about 13", the rest were white bass around 8-9". With the cold temps this week it will only get better. River is starting to clear up a bit too.
Thanks for the report. I have a few questions for you. Did you fishing on a boat or from bank? How close to the dam did you catch most of the fish? What time did you fish there? Last Saturday was a clear blue sky day and sauger should bite better in the evening. Did you see this type of pattern? I am thinking to go there bank fishing this weekend or next.We had 15 sauger, had 2-15", rest were 12-14", 10 big crappie, up to 14", most were 11-12".

We were in a boat and in the lock area for smaller boats on the Ohio side. Sauger bite began about 7:30 and ended around noonish. We didn't fish the ky side. Only access there is the beach area. You can usually pick up some sauger there on minnow type cb, med divers in chrome/black or chrome/blue or fish jig/minnow 1/4 oz in chartreuese or white color.
