    Am wondering if Mr. Fisher read the whole story, it looks like the company was already in deep doodoo and a reduction in benefits or pay is never popular, sometimes you make a stand, sometimes you lose... Its doubtful these snacks will go away, if there is a demand for them they will be produced someplace else by somebody else with employees paid to make them, maybe even by other union members who aren't asked to take a pay cut... It looked like the company was heading for bad times no matter what the unions did.

    I read the whole story...............

    I'd WORK for 1/2 pay if it meant having a job, versus NOT having a job.

    Taking a stand means shutting down the company.

    SOME STAND.

    Go ahead and scapegoat the unions if you want, but as the CEO said, "There's plenty of blame to go around." And there are plenty of factors behind this, including dropping sales. You can only cut wages and benefits so much and expect to maintain a viable workforce. I feel bad for all those people that are losing their jobs, I really do, but I also see this as inevitable, "survival of the fittest" if you will.

    Mr. Fisher, if everybody shared your opinion a lot more folks would be living on food stamps.

    company's will do anything they can get away with, to work a person for less. I listen to a program yesterday, that said there were 23 million part time workers in the USA. and most were only getting 8 to 10 hours a week. and walmart's name came up a lot. the workers said they asked for more hours, but couldn't get them. and if they got another part time job, and walmart found out, they cut their hours even more. they said even the part time hours were not on a set time. and they had to have an open availability, and that made it hard to have another job. the trend for a company now, is to work people part time. so they don't have to pay a decent pay rate, don't have to give any benefits, and can hire and work 2 people for minimumwage, instead of working a full time worker with benefits. some of the workers said, they worked part time so much, that it was like getting a promotion, to have a full time job. I feel for them, trying to take care of their family on a 10 hour a week job.

    Just EVALUATE what you said.....

    * Jobs don't exist......where do you suppose we get them....pull them out of our rectums.......
    * If walmart hired 1 full time and canned the other poor sole, they would be canned.

    You think it is bad now.........wait until all the taxes and BS that Obama is going to throw our way. I already have an idea of what it will cost next year, but here is an idea for a family of 4 with a mom and a dad bringing home 25k each.

    Total Family Income is 50k........

    * Bush Tax Cuts completely eliminated..........that family will pay 2-3 percent more in income tax and will lose the 500/child tax credit....so JUST in taxes we are looking in 2500.

    * Obama Tax holiday eliminated....another 2%......another 1000 bucks.
    * Carbon Taxes, as I published a couple days ago, but no one commented on..........1300 bucks.

    So.......JUST these taxes a family of 4, with 2 kids, making 50k will pay almost 5000 more in taxes. I didn't make this **** up.....it is COMMON KNOWLEDGE.

    Now lets talk turkey with Obamacare.........Na....nevermind.

    I think walmart workers, have had their fill with the way they are being treated by the giant " Walmart "
    most everyone on here has a family member that does or has worked for walmart. and you ask them if they are treated fair while at work, and just listen to what they have to say.http://www.examiner.com/article/walm...9-day-period-1
