I fished there some last winter, but I haven't been there this winter yet.

What worked for me last year was shaky-head worms fished very slow around rock bluffs and inside channel bends. The color I used 99% of the time was a dark red shad color.

I hope this helps you out.

I wonder with the weather warming up this week. Will it warm the water enough to bring the fish up? Also, I would imagine that the fish aren't in the creeks anymore at Nolin since they've dropped the water. So, where would be a good starting point the creek channels, deep on main lake, main lake points? I know the previous response was shaky head but are there any other suggestions, like spinner baits, grubs, jerk baits, jigs? Has anyone ever fished with a hair jig for bass? Do you work it like regular jigs?

    Thanks

I hoping that with the weather warming up this week, it gets the fish active around those rock bluffs. Have you ever fished with hair jigs? I've got a buddy making me and my fishing buddy some hair jigs for bass and wonder how you work it (if it's like working a regular jig).

    thanks

Are you talking about hair jigs used with a F/F rig, or a hair jig like the conventional jig&pig jigs?

I don't know about the F/F on Nolin, but I would be willing to bet that hair jig&pig would work very well, as jig&pigs work well on the rock bluffs at Nolin.

Fished nolin Monday. Only caught two and they came off of mainlake points but they both sat right up on the bank pretty shallow. Caught both on a blade bait fished really slow. Fished jigs, shakey heads and just about everything but no other takers. Talked to a guy at the ramp who said they had been biting but he had a tough day Monday.

I'm hoping with the warm front moving in it gets the bass biting.

I'm going to have the hair jig&pig and a regular jig&pig tied on as well.
