Taylorsville report

Went to the lake today hoping to hook a few crappie and ended up having one heck of a day! We started catching crappie right off, caught them in the mouth of almost any cove on the main lake. All were about 6-10 ft deep in 15-20 ft deep of water. We kept 20 and threw back some 9 inchers that we could have kept but only needed that many for my dinner! haha!! Caught probly 20 short fish.Fished from daylight to about 5 and that was because we ran out of minnows.
There were fish busting shad out in the middle of the lake this morning, trolled out to them thinking they were hybrids. Started throwing topwaters and rattle traps and to my surprise they were largemouth schooled up and a couple were decent keepers. Water was around 70 degrees and decent color.
We caught crappie,bass, hybrids and bluegill.

We did go back into a couple of creeks, and there was some bait but couldnt find the crappie, all were still out on main lake for us.

Took off work today, and really wish i could tomorrow, had an absolute blast.

I'll be out there Thursday fishing, Well I can't tell you where because it's a "secret spot" but they were on last fall! I will say that we will be launching at van buren

I was down there last night. Didn't have the luck you did!!! What part of the lake were you on?

Surprisingly there is one. Well at least I've never seen another boat fishin within around us

I couldn't take it thinking about those crappie so we took off this afternoon and went back down and absolutely wore them out again!! Same way different area of lake so I'm assuming they are just biting everywhere. Kept 28, threw back several short fish in about 4 hours.

Caught some largemouth schooling out off main lake points busting shad. They would absolutely hammer any bait you threw in while chasing those shad. Had another great afternoon!

Yea I went back down yesterday afternoon by myself and did much better. Some good sized crappie and a couple large mouth. Was a fun day. The rain even held off!

I went today and didn't catch anything but a nice cat. Crappie weren't biting for me today. Froze my ass off to lol
