We went down 5/9 & 5/10 and brought home 87 bluegill. Only kept the ones that were 9.5-10.5 in long. Only caught 1 redear and it was a female full of eggs. According to the locals, by that time redear were just about done, and the big bluegill were getting harder to find. Apparently the water temp went up about 10 degrees quick the last week of April and the fish were ready. We were supposed to be there 4/26 and 4/27, but all that high wind kept us home. I did see where someone cleaned a big redear at the fish cleaning station where we stayed. It was touching both sides of a 5-gallon. That's the biggest one I've ever seen with my own eyes.
