Scott D. Campbell

Naturalist, writer, wildlife photographer, and illustrator, Scott D. Campbell has spent the better part of his life exploring the wonders and surprises of the natural world. He has written several popular works on birds as well as articles for leading outdoor magazines. He writes, "The thing that amazes me most about the natural world is that no matter how much we learn, eventually we find that there are ever deeper levels of complexity yet to explore. My only regret is that it would take me several more lifetimes to even begin to study them all." A native Kentuckian, Scott currently resides in Lexington. He is an active member of both the Kentucky Society of Natural History and the American Malacological Union. His latest book, as yet untitled, features the history and biology of North American freshwater clams and mussels and is tentatively scheduled for publication in the Fall of 1997. Other books he has written include The Complete Book of Birdhouse Construction and Easy to Make Birdfeeders.
