Report Updated
Report February 15, 2008
Water temps are ranging
from 49-55. The lake is at normal levels but should rise above normal
levels after the weekend rain.
Bass are hitting a variety of lures right now such as traps and
spinnerbaits, stick with your light or shad colors. These are mainly
being used in or over the grass flats. Jigs and soft plastics in the
grass and on the cypress are catching some decent bass also. Brown and
Tennessee Shad colored crankbaits on the cypress trees in 3-6 ft. of
water are catching bass also.
Crappie are fair right now. Shiners and 1/16 oz. jigs in most any color
combo will catch Crappie from around the edges of the grass and pads on
the channel drops. Try fishing the laydowns on the edges of the steeper
drops in the river also.
We have also been catching some big numbers of huge white bass in the
Big Cypress channel...when they are up schooling most any topwater or
trap will work and when down try using tailspinners, spoons, and traps
hopped off the bo ttom.

Richard Chambers Reservoir Fishing Report Updated
June 23, 2010
RICHLAND CHAMBERS FISHING REPORT
The Summer White Bass Topwater Schooling action has begun to consistently kick in gear on RC! On those days when we're fortunate to have a good breeze and heavy cloudcover, the schooling can go on for a couple of hours in the early morning. More often than not, the Topwater action has been limited to the first hour or so in the morning and the last hour of daylight. Check out the South Shoreline from Fisherman's Point to Ferguson Point, and also the 309 Flats. In the evening, the Windsock Point is as good a place as any to enjoy the last couple of hours of the day. We catch most of our School fish on Clear Tiny Torpedos, but anything small, shiny and quickly retrieved across the surface will result in a hookup.
Those who fish for Crappie have had some good early Summer action. The Crappie have been caught in the standing timber in 25' water, but at depths of around 15'. Areas such as the timber west of Ferguson Point and the heavy timbered coves on the Richland Creek arm have produced some nice stringers of fish. Most are being caught on minnows, but some of the really experienced jig fishermen have passed along some good reports also.
Most recently, we've been on some good White Bass and Hybrids off the 309 Flats and also Hickey Island. I'm finding the fish are hanging on the edges of dropoffs in the 25'-30' water range. We're catching most of our fish on RSR Silver or Chartruse Glitter Shad Slabs. We're dropping them to the bottom or casting out and then doing a steady retrieve to the surface. Be sure and have your drag set somewhat loose as the initial hit of a Hybrid is when you most often lose the BIG fish if your drag is set to tight.
July & August are FUN months for the Family and Kids to take a morning trip on RC! The mornings are pleasant, the action is usually fast, and the time on the Lake is very enjoyable. Be sure and prepare properly by taking along plenty of water or isotonics, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat! If you haven't made the time to fish on RC this Summer, give us a call at 903-389-4117 and get in on the action.
Good Luck and Good Fishin'!

Guide Service on Sam Rayburn & Palestine
Hello Everybody,
ISAIAH 58: Verses 9:
Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; Thou shalt cry, and He
shall say. Here am I. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke,
the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity.
SAM RAYBURN;
Well it is good to see the killer heat wave over for now. Bass were
really slow for about 3 weeks. But now with scattered storms and a
little cooler weather from 103 to 90's is cooler to me.
The Bite has been really great. 20-25 Bass per day is common now and the
key word is Shad.
Water has been slightly stained on most of the Lake with water temps
running about 82-84 degrees. Lots of grass beds everywhere with lots of
Bass.
You can really pick your favorite pattern and catch right now. Bass will
hit frogs in the thick stuff or spinnerbaits and rattle traps in shad
patterns. Also Crankbaits in shad patterns will catch. The shallow bite
has been good but some real Giants have been caught 12-15 ft. deep on
DD22's and Carolina rigs.
Texas rigged 10 inch worms worked in the pockets produced a 24 lb. sack
last saturday in 6-10 ft. grass.
Have a good time and if you do not know the Lake and need a Guide and
