Bass on the White River/ Lawrenceport area?

Is it worth trying the White River for bass around Mitchell?

We have caught some nice fish in the area, nothing world class, but worth the trip out once in a while. One thing to be cautious of is the river depth can get extremly shallow between L-port and Bedford.
