Less than a month till the fifth annual Indiana Fishing Expo. It is a multi species show representing about anything you can think of. Some of our vendors will attest to that.
Gator Grip, Blue Water LED, D&S Lures,Plainfield Tackle, Cap'n Hooks to name a few. We are also doing something a little different this year than years past. Some of the vendors will be doing certain things on site. Blue Water will be installing their lighting system on a boat right on site. Gator Grip is bringing their lazer cutting machine and will custom engrave any board with anything you want on it. TR Lure and fish will have a setup for turning some sweet arse baits on site.
If you want to come to a fishing show that is exactly that, a fishing show, come see us. Nothing but fishing vendors, period. We took a stance from day one to never let a vendor in the show that was not fishing related. We have done that. We don't give in to pressure of filling a spot for profit. The show has grown every year because of that philosophy. We will let a booth set empty before we ever relent from that concept.
The site is not completely updated but you can get a feel for who is coming and what the guest speaker lineup is by going to; www.indianafishingexpo.com
Thanks for your past support and look forward to the newcomers this year.
Sincerely, Ray Rigby
Hey Bill, can you please e-mail me their contact info or have them give me a call? Someone swiped my work laptop out of my truck earlier this year and I lost a lot of info, especially new show vendors. I was going to stop by there Friday since we have a job going off of Carol Rd. But if I could get ahold of them before hand would be great.

If your a crappie fisherman we have a little treat for everyone this year. Charlie Hildreth, probably one of the best crappie fisherman on the crappie pro circuit, will be a speaker both day's of the show. Charlie is a very funny and animated guest speaker who truly loves the be around other fishermen. His booth will be packed with people wanting to talk fishing, and Charlie will welcome em all in with open arms. He is a true asset to the sport of fishing and is as genuine as you will get.
As usual though, we have tried to get the best guest speakers possible for fishing Indiana waters. I feel like we do that year in and year out.
Sincerely, Ray Rigby

About a week away now. Go Fish Indiana will be there this year with a setup for kids to catch fake fish and several other kid friendly programs. Kids are always free as well as the programs put on by the IDNR Go Fish Indiana division. A little bored, bring the kids, catch a seminar and let them go in the IDNR area for some inside fishingIf you have seen them at the Fairgrounds you know they have a very inneractive setup.

Sorry the site has not been updated. Someone snatched my laptop out of my truck and have not replaced the program we built the site with. I won't tell it's over. Strictly Bass will be there as well, Last-Cast baits, plus the others allready listed. All in all over 35 tackle vendors and guides and great guest speakers both day's. Our guest speakers fish Indiana waters and are respected experts in their field. Come on down and see us.
Sincerely, Ray Rigby
Thanks for the info, Im going to e-mail it to a few friends and we all should see you there.
Well, two more day's and it's on. The economy was tough on a couple vendors and they won't be there this year. This saddens me cause they were there since day one when I started this. We were capable of replacing them with the same quality tackle vendors. They are hoping that 2011 will afford them the chance to return. This toppled with the current and new vendors will most certainly make the Expo the envy of many shows.
I feel the success of the show comes back to one promise we made when we started it. No matter what, if they are not fishing related we won't allow them in the show. It has served us well. Again this year we have sold out all the vendor spots and they are all fishing related. Every species will be covered in both our speaker lineup and our vendors.
Also new for 2010. The IDNR Go Fish Indiana is bringing their full arsenal geared towards kid's. They will have rods & reels for kids to fish for fake fish. They will have posters, coloring material and plenty of other children related material. So if you got kid's, grand kid's, neices and nephews bring them. They will love it.

Is Stephen Hendricks going to be there??? also what time will Charlie Hildreth speak. Thanks
Ryan, no Stephen won't be there. I do personaly know him however. I have kind of an unwritten rule to keep my speakers who talk about Indiana Waters. The only time I have ever broken this rule is Rick Millette from Lake Erie. A lot more Hoosier fishermen go to Erie looking for walleye than go to Dale Hollow looking for smallies, plus Rick gives a pretty decent seminar on Erie smallies as well.
Believe me, I have thought many times about bringing in bigger names to speak. I like hearing Denny Bruaer talk about fishing Falcon Lake as much as anyone. But are any of us really going to go there to fish, or one of the other lakes the Pro's fish? I know I manage my money as best I can. I'll hook up the boat and head to Brookville or Patoka or one of my local watering holes. So with that in mind, I keep my speakers local with the one exception. Call me fickle.

I attended last year with the intent to brouse and purchase, but was recruited to volunteer at the Kids Fishing Clinic in Kokomo. While at Fire and Rain Tackle, I mentioned to the owner that I wanted to do more volunteer work with kids fishing. He gave me some info on the Kokomo event, and a couple of us from the club volunteered our time. What an event --both the Fishing Expo and the Kid's Fishing Clinic. We went with the intent of buying and also ended up with an outlet to promote kid's and fishing. Sweet...See you there!
Thank you. I am all about the kids. This is exactly why we recruited the Go Fish Indiana program to the show. I wanted more for the kids to do. I am pretty sure they are bringing their complete arsenal of kid's to do items.
Myself and my wife don't do this for money. We have a business that has blessed us with financial security we need. Proceeds after cost is given to several charities. This is why I try so hard to fill the place.

Well, I guess I have one more update. I just got off the phone with my good friend Eddie Brochin and he will be there with the Hawk for a show both day's. He will also have a booth for his guide and outfitter business.
