well did a lil fishing with the woman today got to try out my lil jon boat that i got from my uncle... well its got a small hole the size of a bb in it and man it leaks like crazy right there... shot a stream of water about 4 inches out of it into the boat... but on a better note did have a few big females come up out of the water at a fluke i was fishing ontop of the grass... hooked 1 but couldnt get her out of the grass and she came off and missed the other ones ... decided to tie on a couple rapalas for some blue gill action and they were going nuts had a ton of fun... we fished the pit that you go past blue grass and loon and turn right go down the hill on the left... that small pit... oh and the water covers most of booneville-new harmony road got 1 lane going east but the parking lot to blue grass on the south end didnt have any water on it... except for the usual right at the boat ramp.. still above the concrete platform though... not many people fishing .. saw one guy wading around the boat ramp at loons' north end in shorts .. man thats gotta be cold till you go numb and dont feel it anymore... seen him catch a few gills and a small lil bass about 6 inches long...

yeah im gonna try and get out this weekend ... might see you out there ... look for a yellow fiberglass... dont be a stranger lol
The water in Bluegrass Creek was still very high and most all the land around it is still flooded. Part of the highway just to the West of the Bluegrass Parking Lot is still flooded over the North side of Boonville New Harmony Road last night.
Euler road is open now but the parking lot at Otter Pit is still flooded.
Likwise both ends of Loon Pit are flooded still.
You could launch a boat at the South end of Bluegrass Pit last night but you had to either back way back down the ramp to get the boat off the trailer or launch sideways to the ramp near the handi capped platform. It drops off about 3 ft on that part of the ramp area. Ie you would be backing into the water from the South and the boat would be going North parallel to the handicapped platform. Or you would be perpendicular to the launch ramp. It was deep enough there to get the boat off the trailer and out into the lake. Just be away or the rip rap that lines the North side of the concrete launch ramp and keep the motor raised up in shallow water drive position until you get out into deeper water.
We really do need a dock at this launch ramp to park the boats on after launching. The fishing area that the Boy scouts made a few years back was flooded with just the tops of the wooden pole holders sticking out of the flood waters.
Hopefully the waters will start dropping a little faster now that it's stopped raining.
The water had gone down about 6" as the very top of the concrete ramp was exposed to the sunlight yesterday afternoon. The day before water covered the concrete ramp and up into the gravel. So it's going down slowly now.
I'd like to get out and do some fishing this weekend.
went out this morning for a cpl hours... only caught 1 dink and had a few other hits.... they seemed to not want anything in my tackle box that i threw at them.... it was crazy... usually i can catch blue gill but they wouldnt even bite worms or crickets.... i tried for crappie also... with no luck at all... maybe its more of a midday or afternoon bite im guessing...
