beavers are fine in a pit but you do not want them in a pond or lake if they get in the damm they can cause it to fail.
The last time I checked on the lake levels I drove over to Loon Pit's North Parking lot and found a dead beaver that had been left next to the launch ramp area. It was skinned and the pelt was taken but they left the carcass next to the parking lot area. What a waste and probably was illegal.
I felt like calling the CO's but figured it would be a waste of my time as the crime was already done and the poachers were long gone. I hope that the CO's catch these poachers and throw the book at them.
Some of the best fishing in these pits is around the areas that the beavers store their food and make their beaver lodges..

Moveon when was the last time you heard of someone reporting acrime before it happened.
Fur taking has been out of season for quite some time now like middle of March on beaver.
