Bass Fishing on river near Newburgh

Has anyone been bass fishing lately near Newburgh or Evansville? I was wondering if you can still get into Cypress Creek and if so how far? Thanks

a buddy of mine fished Cypress last week and blanked. He has a tracker and it was hard for him to go far back in there. Alot of people have been fishing the island for some nice spotted bass.

Thumbs up Re: Bass Fishing on river near Newburgh

Fished out of Yankeetown today for a couple hrs. Planned on goin out to the river for some spots but when I got to the mouth the rain and wind was starting and my motor wasn't acting right so I decided to stay in the creek. Managed a limit of keepers, 4 largemouth and 1 spot. Biggest 2 were a little over 14", lm and spot. Also caught several shorts, a nice crappie and a 3 lb drum.

Is that the little Pigeon Creek that you fished by Yankeetown at the ALCOA launch ramp on the creek by the old bridge?

How do you get to cypress creek. I mean where would you launch your boat to get there. Angle Mounds or Newburgh downtown? I can't remember if cypress creek is above the Newburgh Dam or below it.

Yeah that's the creek/ramp. Cypress creek is just south of there, just before the dam on the other side of Alcoa & the power plant.

Came back up the creek and started fishing at the bridge. Caught everything on 1 pass between the bridge and where a creek forks off to the right. Caught the 5th keeper at the mouth of that creek and went home.
