I am not an old retired guy but I am a teacher with the summer off and have more sick days than I will ever need at work. I would love to do some fishing during the week. don't limit it to the ohio river, include patoka and maybe KY lake or Barkly.
Wondering if there would be any interest in a regular midweek daytime tournament on the Ohio River in the Evansville, Owensboro, Henderson area. Surely there are enough of us old retired guys or shift workers that would like a little friendly compitition. Lets hear from you.........

I'm retired and I agree with skeeter. I'm not a river fisherman.
Guys theres very little difference in river and lake fishing. And there are tournaments galore on those big lakes. My thoughts were to have some tournaments within a reasonable driving distance. At $3 a gallon it can get pricey. But then if the river intimidates someone I don't blame them.If you don't fish the river your missing out on some good fishing......
The river is just fine with me but I catch more 6 and 7 pounders out of Patoka and KY. My biggest out of the river were 5 1/2 and a 5 with in an hour of each other at Rocky point. but come tournament day on the weekend nothing but little 11 and 12 inchers. - I would even go for bluegrass or Lynnville area just for the fun of it. especially if gas $ is an issue.
OK Skeeter, if anything develops out of the this I'll get in touch. I've made the gas a personal issue because I'm not putting any more $ than I have to in some sheiks account..........
Totaly agree. Not like I am $ bags or anything but man gas is big expense when you want to tournament fish. cost of gas is can be more $ than the cost to enter a tournament many times. And they say Golf is expensive. Fishing is the real mans rich sport - it is just has a lot of rednecks like me that want to try their hand in it.
