My first sauger at Falls of the Ohio...

I went out last night (5:30-7:30) with a buddy who fishes down there often. We put in across from the lower dam and anchored up on the left side of the dam. Fishing with 1/4 oz. jigheads and white 3" grubs tipped with minnows we pulled in 20 keeper sauger with the biggest being 21". Also had a nice assortment of whites and hybrids. It was lots of fun and I had no idea that we had such a productive fishery this close to home. I'm looking forward to learning that water and fishing it year-round...I want to catch a 50+lb cat.

Oh, and can I get some help with this...

I bought some silver buddies last night. I tied one on and lost it on a snag within 3 casts. I hear they are great for fishing down there...I've read about them on here and the guy at Bass Pro swore by them, but how and where do you fish them?

    Thanks.

I find that when I get snagged down there it is usually in a big ball of fishing line that someone else lost at some point. Keeping the gig moving on a tight line definately helps as this keeps the hook facing up, if your line goes slack it will fall over and if you allow the current to take it, it's a gonner!!!
Get used to feeding lures to the river, she eats them like a pig!
