As per their website, Plapps is going to stop selling fishing baits and equipment. Everything is 25% off. Look at their website for more info.
I also noticed they no longer have a store in Bronston at Lake Cumberland.
What's the story, did they try to get too big too fast or is the economy just sucking them dry like the rest of us. Maybe they are just downsizing for the time being, I don't know I have never visited them but from what I have read in the past they run a fine shop.
I am in the same boat with you UK_Angus. I live about 3 miles away and they have stuff you can't get anywhere else close by like the Hook some tubes. Bass Pro is too far away to just go and look at todays gas prices. I do order some stuff off the internet but prefer to see it in person. The picture on the computer doesn't always match whats in the package. It's like when you see a some big new burger from a fast food place on TV and you go get one, it never looks like the same thing.
I was there Thurs. they still had quite a selection. I was never at the Cumberland store but hate to hear it has closed.
Stoner
The Cumberland store didn't last more than a couple of months. I think they had some legal issues to deal with.
