fished today on upper end from 9-2. went out looking for striper action (yeah it was hard for me not to "bass fish"). followed birds into fishing and clifty creek with no takers. left and fished main lake with 1 non keeper smallmouth -> 15 in long and huge girth (stuffed full of shad). went into pittman and graphed what i suspect were stripers hanging out in the channel. caught 2 short stripers on dollflies. 2 others hooked up but not landed. best bite was on dollfly. good day to be on water though and had my brother from DC as company which is always nice. will try to post pix of the shorties later tonight. lots of floating debris - moving all around the lake due to changing wind patterns. water still with deep stain and temps generally 44-45 degrees. warm tomorrow but windy (20mph+), if you are out watch the debris. good luck!
Great report kind sir. About the only thing you left out was how good the coffee was and where you got it. Seriously, thanks for the great run down.
In the passed week, I have relearned the lesson:
"Fishing is more fun than resume writing". But, in both cases, there's a serious temptation to "inflate" the results. :-)
