A freind of mine called me the other night and told me about what happened to him at Kentucky lake. He took his wife and kids down to Murray to watch FLW weigh in and the family fun zone. He told me they had some time to kill so they drove over to LBL and found an area to bank fish, they were there for about 10 mins. and 2 pleasure boaters in two baja style boats pulled in to launch. They were about 30 yards off to the side of the ramp. They were bobber fishing 2 bluegill poles and 1 catfish pole with a bobber. He said that they had no respect for anyone throwing out wave after wave, it wasnt a no wake area but at least have the respect to idle around people on the bank. It gets better he said that one boat rode within a foot of his catfish bobber but he didnt say anything the next boat drove right over it, thats when he hollered and the guy hit the throttle sucking his line into the prop. He said that the rod shot off the bank and barely grabbed it by the end. The rod bent in half and he had a few choice words for the guys, then the line broke losing bobber hook and all. One of the guys was standing up and seen what they did and he threw his hands up like o' well. The 2 boats then left out of the cove, no sorry and didnt even try to retrieve the bobber. My buddy said he lost it the guy had parked right by the ramp and he seen what they were driving so he thaught to himself what to do. He took my line so I'll take his line he went to his trailer and cut all his winch line off the front winch. I hope he wont be mad that I shared his story but every time im on the water there is more and more people that dont respect one another.

Not defending what the original jerks did, but what your friend did was worse in my opinion.

OK.... So someone pulled a boat home with no winch strap. Let's just say it comes off the trailer, causes bodily injury or a fatality. Now was that worth a bobber and a hook? You need to think about cause and effect. The prop with the line all rapped up was damage done. I would have been mad at the jerks, but Karma works and can't be traced. Not like a friend posting on a public forum of another friend doing property damage. Just watch what you say or post, because lawyers do and will use this type of info if necessary.

NOT COOL!!!!! I am not taking sides with the pleasure boater at all but not only was the pleasure boater a jerk, your friend was a bigger jerk. Not to mention he had his kids with him. What kind of example is your friend setting for his kids?

Agreed,not cool.But im not going to get to uptight because im sure its a b.s story of turning what he'd like to do into telling someone he did it.

Everyone involved is a jerk. Two wrongs do not make a right. Those kids are gonna think what their dad did is OK. There are now two more growing up that will do the same thing when they are able. Anyone ever hear of being the better man????

i think him cutting the winch let them off easy i'd have probably shot holes in the boat at the water line . then again i'm a hillbilly & don't like being pushed around by a smart a--.

It's sad to see such disrespect for each other. The pleasure boaters sound like punks and the bank fishermam sounds like someone who showed poor judgement in a time of heated passion. I probably would have been very angry too, but I would have left a note on their window saying..."hope your brakes work on the way home you knucklehead"...because that would make 'em worry the whole way home. Of course my note would have been sincere, I would hope that everyone's brakes work properly on the way home after a day on the lake!

Trust me i understand your reaction,it would be mine as well.I would have loved to put an ole fashioned beat down on him but cutting winch lines and having him guaranteed tryin to rig something up to get home and killing someone because of it.Wouldnt sit right with me over defending my pride.But i have a hothead and have not always reacted very well either but i would like to think i wouldnt take it that far.
