    Trolling Motor question

I have a Tracker 190TX. The trolling motor that came with it just isn't quite powerful enough. I noticed that Bass Pro World was having a sale on a MotorGuide Pro Series trolling motor. 24Volt, 70lbs of thrust with a Gatorflex 360 mount. I can't tell from the description or pictures if it has an indicator light on the top. Can anyone advise about the light or about this trolling motor in general?

I have a 24v motoguide 767 on my boat. It is a 67# thrust.. Not quite the same but close. It has a light at the top (most do for night fishing).
Mine needed replaced/rebuilt and I rebuilt it last year it works great now and was easy and cheap to do. I saw one of the same ones in the community tackle box or on craigslist not too long ago at a reasonable price. You can probably save a lot of $ buying a slightly used version and then you will have more $ to donate to St. Jude.

I have that exact same boat..........

I put 24 volt in it a few years ago. 80lb MinnKota Maxxum for me. It works GREAT.

One thing that I had problems with was ROOM in the back for batteries. They fit, but standard sized trays, will need to be modified. I even looked at the 2 battery trays, but those didnt' work too well either.

I eventually used regular trays, removed the skrew tabs, and custom made some "clamps" to hold the battery trays down. It was a pain in the BUTT.

THEY have been that way for about 3-4 years. I was sure they'd break into little pieces the way KY lake treats my boat, but they are still good as of last year.

    Later,

    Geo

i bought one of these last year and it works great but it does not have a directional light. it should pull your boat around with plenty of power!

They will turn around, but sometimes they will popup on high speeds. Some of them have a breakaway feature that way if it is mounted on the back and you hit something, it will kick up. Well, if you turn it around... you get the picture. My MinnKota riptide 50 did it.
