How busy was the lake while you were out? I can imagine a small lake like that had quite a bit of boat traffic on it this past Saturday.
Fished only 4 hours Sat.; caught one keeper; 16"! on a 1/4 jig...6 feet right infront of a large stump. Water temp, the warmest I found was 47..the water looked looked good. It will explode there soon..

I fished the afternoon hours...about from 1-5pm...putting in was a breeze..but pulling out was a wait...sucked; caused me to be late for a dinner date, should have known. But over all the lake had very few bass anglers... not many realy. Just looked like a bunch were just getting the boats out and run them a bit, of all sizes...about like me.
yea...I had to eat some crow with my Aunt and Uncle...he was already to go with the camera;...yet I felt good catching a keeper, got to get a little bass smell on my hands...boy it was good!...I mostly thrilled that everything worked on my boat!!! Doug sure did a great job....hey, speaking of...Doug called me last night and got some really good news about his health!!!
Eddie...what are you fly fishing for at Fort Knox??...Do they have some creeks stocked with rainbows...browns there or something??
Dang, that one more keeper than I have ever seen caught there, matter of fact I have never seen a bass caught there but have only been there 3 times.
I've only fished there once and caught the same "dink" twice. Seems like a good place for bass...need to go more often. I just wish there was a ramp you didn't have to pay to use.![]()
The place is a bass meca is far as Im concerned!...Now there was a time that you could catch 8 and 10 pounders...and they are there! You have to fish it a bunch...but the bass are there....I just think they are very educated. Many bass have taken a ride to the scales...they know!
Check this out. 8.51lbs from last year caught in a USA Bassin tournament. That thing was ugly. Half of its tail was only attached by a small piece of skin, its eyes were bulging out, and it looked like it had swallowed a bowling ball! Needless to say, that team won Big Bass for that tournament and Big Bass Pot for the year.......

Wow..that is a nice pick!!!...did she swim off when realeased? My lagest was also in our club's tournament...I think 6 years ago. I won big bass for the year (5.89), I think. We fished Barkley..Dale..Barren...Ky. lake..and it held out just by ounces for the year!
I remember fishing with my dad...he hooked a bass right infront of the marina...it surfaced twice..big huge green bass...it was so big...it was pulling the boat!!! It was a 10 pounder for sure; diffently larger than the few 8lbs he caught. This was 1977...Dad had new 15 pound test line...snapped it clean when it made a run under the boat...quess it had a bad spot on the line. I'll never forget dad saying, as the fish was pulling the boat......."I hope she dosen't go to the bottom son"!!! A memory of dad I'll never forget.
I didn't catch her but I would assume she has passed. The fish spent a long time out of the water, and was probably stressed. Had it been me I would have weighed her, snapped a quick picture, and released her as soon as I could.
She may have swam away, I don't know. I do know that she was released. If she's still living in there she's probably 9lbs+, especially this spring when she's full of eggs. Hopefully she's still alive, waiting for another to catch her.
There's plenty of big fish in Guist for sure. If this one didn't make it, there are more to take her place.
