He's slower than X-mas, I could smoke him with my electric. Also I'd rather eat a fried dog turd than one of those things.

I've backed down that exact ramp many of times. Duane is a good guy, he does carry the same name of Dog the Bounty Hunter. Won't catch me eating one though.

Yeah I'll never clean one but I would try it. Heck I never thought I would like Mullet but it's great when you have the right species and someone else cleans it!

This carp will probably be the next all you can eat Friday fish fry before long.

I turn 28 in Sept and by the time I got done getting all the bones out of that nasty thing I would be 40!! Use em as turtle and catfish bait and fertilizer for the garden. If, however I had a big ol smoker I would try that. Dont have to worry about the bones as much then.

Re: How to Filet a Kentucky Tuna

I forget who started it but calling them Kentucky Tuna is a bad idea. I know someone started it trying to get people interested in eating the fish so more would be harvested but if that name sticks it will not be a good thing.

First of all they aren't only in Kentucky and they didn't originate in Kentucky, so the name isn't even accurate. Second you are taking a trash fish and equating it to good fish that people like to eat. This is bad for the image of Kentucky and will only serve to give the rest of the world yet another reason to look down on Kentucky "they are so poor or dumb in Kentucky that they think Carp is Tuna". We really don't need more people thinking that way about Kentucky.

Even though they are commonly referred to as Asian Carp they are actually 2 different species, Big Head Carp and Silver Carp. Let's call them what they are are...

Silverfin is the name that's being pushed for it.

A person is more likely to order Silverfin off of a menu.

Has anyone actually tried the meat? It looks really nice and white. Buffalo are considered trash fish, but man-o-man is the rib meat good on them. I plan to try one next time I go out bowfishing.
