carrot stix

2 weeks ago I bought 2 carrot stix. 1 regular and 1 gold. In a tx last night I went to set the hook and my gold one broke at the 3rd eye. snapped like a tootkpick sounded like a 22 going off. it is 6-10 med heavy gold. only 3rd time being used. I know about the warranty, but has anyone else had this problem?. I really like the rod. I use it for soft plastics.

I have a 7' gold med-hvy that is 2 yrs old. I mostly throw a chatterbait with it and have caught several 4 to 5 lb class fish that I've had to lift up on the bank at least 2 feet. This rod has performed brilliantly for me. It is the only non G Loomis rod I fish with. But on the same note, I'm afraid to buy another even at the low prices they are now selling for.

oh no! wife just ordered a 7'2 med hvy carrot stix for me for birthday from cabelas, i have never owned one so i asked a friend if they would hold up in the event a striper latched on or a big muskie at green river, he assured me they would. now im worried, ive always used shimano rods without any problem, aw well if it breaks i send it back

Well you seem to be PAR... seems form my asking this question on numerous forums, you have a 50/50 shot at gettinga carrot stix rod that breaks on a hook set... so you got 1 of 2... thats about right...

the problme now is that I have heard they have horrible customer service and warranty replacements...
