Re: bps carbonlite micro guides rods?

Her is some of my thoughts on micro guides.
    1. They say it cuts down on back lashes and gives you more casting distance and this is WRONG , Don't believe me try putting your bait caster on your sinning rod and see how much further it will cast with those big guides and you will get a lot less back lash too.
    2. If you use any kind of super line it will pick up dirt and such from the water and using micro guides will allow the line to rub you pole this will were groves in your shaft and cause week points. If you use mono this will cause a lot of friction that can cause your line to brake. Look at some of the poles they use for salt water and you will notice how far the guides are off the shaft they know if the line touches that rod it will snap one or the other.
    3. This one is about the Fuji eyes every one uses. These eyes are made from ceramic and there edges are as sharp as glass, Now what I'm talking about is the ridge inside of the eye if you go to bass pro's web and zoom in on the eye of the rod there inside is a sharp ridge this ridge will scrape off line as the drag is pulled..

Here is something you can try.. Go to Wally world and buy 2 of the same rods ( You can return them after your done) the only difference will be one is a casting and the other a spinning now put your best bait caster on them and see what happens. I promise the spinning rod will cast much further and one other this about using small guides is the line will wrap around the first eye this is nothing more then there next gimmick to sell another rod don't fall for it..

I my self are looking into buying a new rod and I plan on spending the bucks for it but they have to do better then this before I buy one..
I hope this helps you out some and Good luck your going to need it..
