    Guntersville Report

I'm interested in a recent report from Guntersville. I'm going there with my son and we're strictly catch and release fishermen. I'm interested in basics like depth, temp,, weather conditions and any other help that you can provide. If someone posts a reply that helps I promise to return the favor when I return. God Bless and Good Fishing.

    Re: Guntersville Report

Ok bud, just returned from Goose Pond Colony on the big G. Wind was tough to navigate the lake in the mid day but morning and evening fishing is worth going. The pattern is Grass, Grass, Grass. Really it's the lilies in front of the grass. They're hanging main lake side of the lilies. Water temp is 71-73 I used weightless flukes and buzz baits. You could do better with a good quality top water frog. The locals are fishing tight lined jigs and plastics. I tried with no luck. The water levels are fluctuating just like local lakes, but not as severe. On a lake that's primarily 5 foot or less deep loosing a foot over night is a dramatic change. The rains are forecasted through this week so be careful when boating and stay in the channel when running. Any more needed to know feel free to send a PM.

Here is a website that I find useful:

    http://www.wmi.org/bassfish/reports/

Mike Gerry runs Fish Lake Guntersville Guide Service and is a great guy - read his posts as they're the most informative and practical.
