    HELP with Nolin

have club tourney on 22nd and 23rd. Never been on Nolin so looking for some advice. I know they started dropping the lake. Any idea where it might be on Saturday? From the looks of the lake there should be a fair amount of current when they are drawing it down, is that right? Have they started moving back in the creeks? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Re: HELP with Nolin

I fished all day yesterday, caught 11, most of 'em were small, had 1-2 keepers/slots. The wind was so bad i fished creeks, the lake is about 5-6 ft down, by next week should be 8-10 ft down. The ones i caught were on rock, looking for craws. Their mouths were really red. If the wind is not bad, try rocky banks and points on the main lake, i caught fish on tubes, small cranks, spinnerbaits, not really a pattern there, if you fished it slow, down in the rocks they would hit it.... Fished NRL all day Friday, Sat & half day on Sunday. Caught most on craw imitations, mostly short bass with just a few keepers. Gulp 4" camo craw on a shaky jig and 5" green pumpkin shaky worm on a shaky jig fished real slow was about all that worked. Did best on shady banks w/ rock and near deeper water. Tried back of Conoloway & Rock Creek, only managed a few short ones. Wind and high pressure made it tough. I did manage to hit one keeper in the head with a crank bait, he spit up some dead craws on the boat carpet.

Fish Saturday and Sunday daylight till noon. Caught 40-50 Saturday with 8 over 15 and 20 on Sunday with 3 over 15 all on a spook. Fish it very close to the shore line like with in 12'' and they were smashing it.

I guess it depends on where you are with the spook bite, I tried off and on all day and couldn't buy a bite on a Spook or Gunfish.
