Barren River Catfishing

Was planing on heading to Barren next weekend to throw out jugs or trotlines. Wondering if anyone has had any luck there lately and where a good place would be to fish. Havent ever catfished there and any advise would be great... Thanks

I would say any rip rap would be a good starting point. Last week when it was warm channels were up in the backs of coves. Fish shad or cut shad for them. That was what they were chasing in the backs of the coves.

on the lake we took some nice channels on Beaver Creekalong the walls and where water went from deep to shallow used different baits all caught some fish. Below the dam in the river about 1/2 mile down stream we killed a bunch on Saturday using minnows and crawlers even got a 15# blue several channels, we kept about 15 fish there were 5 of us there for about 2 hours released around 25 or so, some of the females were full of row so we let them back into the river.
