everybody was fishing for 2nd place. 2nd was 19+, 3rd 16+, several others just below that. If we could have caught an 12 LBer we could have culled out our small 2 LBer and won. LOL!
Green River is a feast or famine lake. Those that fish it all the time exclusively tend to do really good. Those of us that jump around to different lakes and mix it up, tend to not do as well. LOL Seems like you have to know where they are, then follow them all week, then fish your tournament to stay on them.I've never been able to figure it out myself. I can go there and catch 9 - 10 lbs and that's it. LOL
Thinking about fishing it this weekend. Need any help I can get topwater, plastic ? Channel banks ? Points? Feel free to pm me. Thanks in advance.
I was just there for a week, and the tourney fisherman all seemed to be throwing worms, jigs, etc. I threw mostly buzzbaits and cranks all week and caught a lot of shorts.
In my experience, Green tends to be more of a 'spot' lake than a 'pattern' lake, especially in the summer. We have a hard time finding fish following a pattern. We have a bunch of spots tht we like to fish, and fish the ones that should be on based on the time of year and weather conditions. As far as what to look for this weekend... Ask me Saturday night... our USA Bassin tourney is saturday morning. Hope to find a few tomorrow. My buddy thinks he knows where those 26 pounds were caught... we'll see if there are any left.

They weren't caught on a "spot".....They were caught in a variety of areas....I know the "spot" you're talkin about and only one of their keepers came from there
But like he said, once you get past the spring bite it's really hard to pattern fish out there...It's a lake where you might catch a big one in 4' on a flat and 10 minutes later catch a big one in 25' out of a brushpile...I fish out there 3-4 times a week and can't pattern them at all....Also just because you find em there one day, doesn't mean theyll be there the next
It was a day tourny....Friday night we had a small tourny that took almost 19lbs to win and we finished 2nd with 17lbs....The fishing is pretty good right now
