On Around the Horn and PTI today they all sided with what Knight said.
Cal released his response to Knights statement with something like "I don't agree with it" and "I respect coach Knight" blah,blah,blah..... Looks like he doesn't want to get into a war of the words with Knight because he knows it would only get worse for him.
Guess he can keep taking shots at Seth (no clout) Davis and feel safe.
Smart move by Coach Cal....why get in a pissin' contest with a legend of the game. Just let it go and continue to do your job.
I agree with what Knight said. Everyone knows I'm a Card fan. As soon as I heard that Cal was becoming The UK coach I told all my UK buddies it is just a matter of time before UK is in trouble.
The ones that are not fanatic agreed with me and wish he was not the coach. The friends that are up in your face UK fans think he is the second coming.
Time will tell.
Why is it that two years ago Cat fans didn't want Calipari and called him a cheat and a slime ball, but now he is clean and has never been linked to any NCAA violations.
I love Cats Pause

I personally wanted Cal since the day Pitino left
Neither UMASS nor Memphis were sited with any violations. Hence, how could Knight's statements not be slanderess.
Wouldn't surprise me if this wasn't staged.
It was at an Indiana University Hall of Fame function.......would Knight make this statement at any other venue? Maybe he was just trying to get a "cheap pop" from the crowd.
This is true because blame was pinned twice to both players be it Camby at U-Mass and Rose at Memphis. However both final fours were taken from the schools and Calimari, that makes a mark no matter what kinda spin you put on it.
Mafia Don's never know Nuttin bout Nuttin, fugetaboutit, Kapeesh, LOL.
If you agree with the gist of what he said, that integrity is a problem, I won't argue. IMHO integrity is a problem in ALL sports, and NCAA basketball is no exception. But Knight needs to get his facts straight. UMass and Memphis both had their Final Four wins vacated, but neither team was placed on probation. Calipari himself was never implicated in either violation, and in fact, during its investigation of UMass, the NCAA specifically said that Calipari was "not at risk." Knight's slanderous comments strike me as nothing but childishness, which of course is totally in character.
