For the first time in my life, I donated money to a candidate for election. I did this way back last year before the primaries. I did not donate to the candidate's party, I wrote the check directly to the candidates campaign fund.

I have known this person for many years and thought it was about time I became more involved in the election process. I also allowed the candidate to place a campaign sign in my yard.

Monday evening, the candidate called me at home to thank me (again) for my donation and my support in the upcoming election.

The candidate asked if I would be voting next week and I replied, "Yes. Early and often." which got a laugh from the candidate.

I have purposely not mentioned the sex,name,or party of the candidate as I am not campaigning here on fishin.com

Tuesday 2 November 2011 is a date that will live in infamy. Please cast your ballot.
