The Story of Lake Cumberland - Video-imag0400.jpg

Ever seen for full version on VHS? It adds a lot of interviews with local folks that recount their experiences. Adds a lot to it. I already copied it to DVD for my future viewing, so who wants the tape?

    Freebe......but I ain't paying the shipping dudes :-)

Stripernut gets first crack, I owe him tons of favors.

In case there's any misunderstanding, I'm offering to give away the one and only VHS tape copy of the film I have. My comment about the copy was just to let you all know I made one for me only, as I bought the tape.

I'll give away the tape if anyone wants it, but please don't ask me to make you a DVD copy.

    Thats why!!

I went on a guided fishin trip to cumberland in the mid 80's, the fishing wasn't that good! I was spoiled, lived in a great fishing area. When the thought of retiring came into my mind, there were a few choices, upper michigan was first, western illinois second. Now I'm glad in a way we chose Ky. Cheap land, not too much snow, and secluded bueatiful property. The first two years here, I never even knew about dale hollow, even though we lived in between both of them. It is a place where you can really enjoy solitude, the fall scenery is spectacular. But when they started the dam project, most of that changed, I,ve fished in a lot of places, but the prettiest in the country was right there in the hollow and cumberland area.

lake Cumberland was the first lake I ever saw, and it just blew me away. there was a community center where I grew up. and they took about a dozen of us young boys, on a camping and fishing trip to lake Cumberland. I had never been on a real boat before, my friends and I used a cut off car top for a boat, and riding this boat on lake Cumberland was something. we had a wonderful time, fished, went swimming, cooked and eat, sleep in tents. I will never forget that trip, but it has been so long ago, I don't remember the grown ups that took us. but I was hooked for life, on boating and beautiful lakes.

I wish they still offered tours to go inside the belly of the dam...
