Default A good night on Herrington

Went to Herrington on Friday night and the hybrids were biting. Fished all night and threw several smaller ones back. It's fun when they are hitting! I have a good picture to post, but it says i'm not allowed to post attachments. Anyone know what i need to do to post attachments?

If you dont mind me asking how did you catch em?? I fish Herrington a bit, 99 percent of the time for bucketmouths but I have tried to throw jerkbaits under dock lights before just to see if a hybrid would come up and grab at it. Very nice night at the "dead sea". How did the lake look by the way. I have been avoiding it while it has been up due to debris.

Started out with shiners (free line) on a point. After dark, went to crank baits on the lights. I went out again last night and had a huge one on. He peeled about 30 yards of line and i couldn't turn him. He finally cut me off on the rocks. I actually caught a pretty good largemouth last night from the "dead sea". Biggest i have got out of Herrington (probably 3 lbs) but i don't bass fish. I took a friend last night and he said he really didn't think there were fish in the lake till last night. The lake is getting better. I actully didn't hit anything last night. It's coming down a little too.

15 daily limit. No more than 5 fish in the daily creel limit may be more than 15 inches long. By the way....3 of is worked on this stringer of about 25 fish.

That's good stuff. Only been there once, but didn't have any luck. I'm not very familiar with the lake, but I have heard about the hybrids. I have just recently bought my own boat, and was looking for a good place to break it in. I thought about trying Cumberland this weekend, but last weekend was pretty weak. Are you putting out lights for these?

I'm not putting out lights. There are several on docks with lights scattered across the lake.

I used live shad before it got dark, but went to cranks on the lights. I use circle hooks. The size hook really depends on the size of the shiners.
