Report Updated April 30, 2008

The bass have been biting very well all over the lake, although the big ones have been few and far between. Last Saturday, however, it took almost 14 pounds to win the FOP tournament so someone was on them. Unfortunately, it wasn't me. I caught 43 bass in 8 hours but only 6 of them were over the legal limit. Several techniques have produced including lipless crankbaits, soft plastics, and spinnerbaits are most of what was talked about at the weigh-in.
Sunday, however, yielded 50 keeper sized crappie and at least another 50 that where thrown back. Target shallow wood with minnnows suspended under a bobber 3-5 feet down. Also, tiny grubs slowly swimming around the wood fared very well. The slower and smaller the better.
