The weather hasn’t been the greatest but we’ll still been catching fish.  April can be unsettled weather but here on the Neuse River our many protected creeks can give anglers an opportunity to catch plenty of specks, reds, flounder and even a few stripers and that’s what we are doing.  The fish will move out of these areas soon, so now is the time to go! 

Lite tackle anglers are having success on hard baits like MirrOlure's M 17 and on DOA soft plastic shad and jerkbaits fished both tight and away from the shore line.  Fly rodders have been doing well also, fishing Clouser Minnows and a variety of sub-surface flies.
