Report Updated Report February 15, 2008

Water temps are ranging from 49-55. The lake is at normal levels but should rise above normal levels after the weekend rain.
Bass are hitting a variety of lures right now such as traps and spinnerbaits, stick with your light or shad colors. These are mainly being used in or over the grass flats. Jigs and soft plastics in the grass and on the cypress are catching some decent bass also. Brown and Tennessee Shad colored crankbaits on the cypress trees in 3-6 ft. of water are catching bass also.
Crappie are fair right now. Shiners and 1/16 oz. jigs in most any color combo will catch Crappie from around the edges of the grass and pads on the channel drops. Try fishing the laydowns on the edges of the steeper drops in the river also.
We have also been catching some big numbers of huge white bass in the Big Cypress channel...when they are up schooling most any topwater or trap will work and when down try using tailspinners, spoons, and traps hopped off the bo ttom.

Richard Chambers Reservoir Fishing Report Updated May 20, 2013

Fishing Friends,

The past couple of weeks have been about as goooooood as it gets on RC
with many days having your limit of 25 fish per person in only a
couple of hours!!!! The White Bass are near the shallow water Main
Lake Points and shorelines most morning chasing baitfish and we're
catching them on RSR Tailspinners and Rat-L-Traps. As the morning
progresses, we move to deeper water and Silver or Chartruse Slabs
become the bait of choice. If we happen to have a really cloudy (or
even foggy) morning, then the Hybrid Stripers are being caught off the
Hwy 309 Flats in 10'-15' water on large Sassy Shads or Slabs. The
Afternoon bite is as good and sometimes better than the Morning with
the Hwy 287 Roadbed being our "Go To" spot most days. We're starting
to see a little bit of "Schooling Activity" many days and this will
only increase as we move into the warmer months! May has once again
proved to be the BEST month of Spring on Richland Chambers and I'm
forecasting a great June for those who missed out on the April/May
action!!!

We do have a couple of May openings that we need to fill a boat and
lots of June dates that need to be filled. Here's the open dates over
the next few weeks:

May 29 (AM)
May 30 (PM)
June 4, 5, 10, 11, 13 and 17-19 (All Morning Trips in June)

Give us a call and Let's Go Fishin'!

5-12-13
Fishing Friends,

Once again May is proving to be the absolute BEST Spring month for
fishing (and catching) on Richland Chambers!!! The continual Cold
Fronts we had in March and April have given way to more mild and
seasonal temperatures and the fish have responded. Adam and I are on
the Lake six days a week now and will continue to offer Morning and
Afternoon trips until the temperatures heat up, and we then only
conduct Morning trips through the Summer months. About the only
difference you can expect when taking an AM versus PM trip is that the
Hybrid Stripers always seem to be a bit more active in the early
morning in the Springtime. The White Bass bite ALL DAY long and you
can expect to load the box just about every trip out!

Our feathered friends (Gulls, Terns, Egrets, Herons and Loons) make it
easy to find the fish in May. Many mornings they are lining the banks,
sitting off the windblown points or dipping and diving picking up
baitfish over school fish. It's always best to approach a school of
feeding fish slowly and upwind. Turn the big motor off and use your
trolling motor to stay near the school. This accomplishes two thing...
(1) You don't spook the school fish and (2) You show courtesy to
others fishing the same school of fish. Fellow fishermen who troll
through the fish with their big motor roaring scatter the fish and
upset those who are "working the school properly".

Check out the Hwy 309 Flats and the South Shoreline from Fisherman's
Point to Ferguson Point for early AM activity on the Whites and Hybrid
Stripers. In the PM, it's hard to beat the Pelican Island and Old Hwy
287 Roadbed. As always we catch the majority of our Whites on the RSR
Slabs we've used for years, but in May we catch an equal amount on
Sassy Shads on a 1/4 oz. Jighead and RSR's Tail Spinners. Check out
the RSR site @ www.rsrlures.com for any and all of these baits.

Crappie are making the move to their Summer spots (Timber, Brushpiles
and Bridge Columns) and should be on a Summer Pattern in the next few
weeks. Small minnows are hard to beat when fishing for these tasty
fish!

If you're looking to load the freezer with filets and enjoy a Morning
or Afternoon on the water, give us a call or email. Hope to see you
soon!

5-3-13
Fishing Friends,

Last week's Report was captioned with "Richland Chambers Heating Up"
and we can
honestly say that "RC Is On Fire" for the first three days of this
week!!! We cancelled
Thursday and today's trips due to the Wind and Cold, but hope to get
back on the water
for Saturday's trips. Guess we'll see what the Winter Like weather in
May does to the
Red Hot action!

I fished Morning and Afternoon Trips on Monday thru Wednesday and Adam
was on the
Lake for Tuesday trips. In every case we had either limits of White
Bass or a Full Ice
Chest, and on Tuesday when we had the GREAT Foggy and Breezy
conditions, the
Hybrid Striper action was VERY good with fish up to 8 lbs.!!! The
fish are aggressively
feeding as the post spawn time is here and the fish are hungry!!!
We're catching our fish
on almost any bait you want to use...Slabs, Tail Spinners, Sassy
Shads, Rat-L-Traps
and more! I believe we're in for this action on through the month of
May!

We've had to cancel and reschedule so many trips this Spring due to
weather that our
calendar continues to be a challenge to get everyone who wants to fish
a date. We'll
continue to offer Morning and Afternoon trips thru May and then
determine in June if it's
too warm for an Afternoon trip. Our Saturdays are booked until mid
June, but we do
have Weekdays open in May and LOTS of openings in June for the Kids
when School
lets out!

Here's the May dates we still have at least one boat open: May
8,10,14, 15, 20, 22-24,
and 29-31 If you do want to reserve a May date, we'd encourage you to
give us a call
now.

Thanks so much to all of you who have fished or tried to fish with us
thus far this Spring
and hope to see many more of you as we head into Summer!!!

4-22-13
Fishing Friends,

This past week proved to be the best of the Spring as we were on the
Lake everyday except for Wednesday when the Weekly Cold Front blew
thru and kept us off the Lake, and even better news is that the
fishing ( and catching) improved dramatically!!! On every trip we
either had limits on White Bass or a full box,and on several trips we
had some Hybrid Striper action. The fish are on a consistent bite in
all the normal Spring locations so I believe we can finally say that
the Spring Fishing Frenzy is ON!!! About the only small downer to this
Report is that the Crappie action continues to be sporadic with the
ups and downs of the weather and temperature. I believe we may be near
the end of the Crappie Spawn and we never really did much fishing for
them this Spring. Oh well....it won't be too long and they'll be on a
more consistent pattern and then maybe we can do some Crappie
Catchin'!

Check out the 309 Flats in the early Morning and then again in the
Afternoon for your best action on Whites and Hybrids. The Gulls are
working and will help you locate fish most days. Have one Rod ready
with a Sassy Shad or Rat-L-Trap, and the other with the always
dependable RSR Chartruse or Silver Slab ( www.rsrlures.com ). You
can't go wrong with these baits as you can catch em' on Top, in the
Middle or on the Bottom! Pelican Island is always a good place to
look and the Hwy 287 Roadbed has produced lots of fish in the
Afternoon.

Adam and I have had to cancel and/or reschedule so many Spring Trips
this year due to weather and wind that our April Calendar is filled
and early May has only a few openings. We do have Weekdays openings in
mid May and on thru June, but our Saturdays are booked till mid June.
I'd recommend you give us a call or email now if you want to get in on
some AWESOME late Spring action. May is my FAVORITE Spring month as
the Winds usually die down and the Fishin' just gets BETTER and
BETTER!!!

Give us a call and Let's Go Fishin'!!!

4-22-13
Fishing Friends,

Spring Fishing on RC continues to be a CHALLENGE on some days and a
very big REWARD on others!!!! The major challenge has been strong
WINDS that come from the South about six days in a row and then we
have our weekly North Wind associated with a Cold Front. We have tried
to not cancel too many trips, but at last count had cancelled and/or
rescheduled 53 trips since the New Year started. However, on the days
we can fish the locations we want, we're catching fish!

Yesterday was a good example of "Getting Lucky versus being Smart"!
After a bumpy but productive morning with both boats catching fish in
windy conditions in the morning, I called our afternoon clients and
told them it would probably be too windy to fish and we might want to
reschedule. Well, the three brothers in the picture (Brennan, Jake and
Sam) said "NO" and they wanted to fish that day! Along with their
Uncle and Dad, they made their way down from Dallas. When we headed
out, the Winds were at minimum 20 MPH and Gusting. We knew that all we
could do was stay on the South Shoreline where we had a "Wind Block"!
We found fish ALL along the South Shoreline not a 1/2 mile from the
Marina for ALL afternoon. While a lot of the fish were small and not
Keepers, we estimated we caught over 300 fish and kept 50. As I said,
"Better Lucky than Smart", and I'm glad that 8 year old Sam insisted
on fishing!

This next week looks again be a little bit of a challenge in mid week,
but hopefully fishable. We have a boat open on Tuesday and Thursday
morning if you're interested in doing some Spring Fishing on Richland
Chambers. The remainder of April is pretty much booked, but we have
lots of Weekday opening in May that still need to be filled.

Give us a call and Let's Go Fishin'!

4-16-13
Fishing Friends,

After a couple of WINDY early Weekdays, and then Cold Mid Week days,
we made our first fishing trips of the week on Friday morning. I'm not
sure of the reasons WHY the fish didn't bite but I used all the ones
I'd heard over the past 50 years...Cold Front, Barometric Pressure,
Water Temps too Cool, Rain, Heat, Blue Bird Skies, The Economy,
Washington Politicians, etc. , and still between two boat loads of
folks, we caught 13 Keeper fish!!!! During the middle of the trip, I
called my Afternoon Customers and tried to talk them out of making the
trip from Dallas to fish. They wouldn't listen because it was a nice
day and we'd already rescheduled once this Spring. I'm glad they
didn't listen to me as we put 60 Keepers in the box that Afternoon! I
told them the reasons WHY were....Warming Trend, Steady Barometer,
Water Temps Just Right, No Rain, Pretty Skies, and a Wonderful Texas
Legislature!!!!

Once again, we had gone from ZERO to HERO in less than a couple of
hours!!!

It is amazing that the Catchin' can be so different from Morning to
Afternoon, but I do believe the Cold Front we had experienced Mid Week
had the fish shut down just enough to impact us for a couple of days.
From Friday Afternoon on through both our Morning and Afternoon Trips
on Saturday, we caught fish. I ended the week with a 50 fish limit for
two Gentleman on Saturday Afternoon and Adam had a full box of fish
for his three customers! Unless we get another major weather change, I
do believe we're ON for the Great Spring White Bass fishing that RC is
known for. Now, all we need is some good Hybrid Striper activity, and
a little bit of Crappie action for next week's Customers!!!!

RSR Slabs ( www.rsrlures.com ) are our "Go To" baits this time of year
and will be for much of the Spring. We'll soon be chunking some Tail
Spinners and Rat-L-Traps at fish chasing shad, and then as we move
into late Spring/Summer, the Top Water bite will start to show up! In
other words, we're in for Fun and LOTS of fish!!!

Adam and I have a pretty full calendar for the remainder of April. May
is now about 50% full and we still have some Saturdays open starting
in mid June. Here's a few Weekdays we still have at least one boat
open and would love to have you occupy a seat:

April 22, 23, 29 & 30

May 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, & 17

4-7-13
Fishing Friends,

"It was the best of times and the worst of times" was how the Novel
began, and the fishing on RC began and ended last week! The continual
Cold Fronts and WINDS too strong to even fly a kite challenged us as
we called off Tuesday through Thursday trips, had a really nice Friday
where we caught fish and ended the week by attempting our Saturday
Morning trips and then cancelling the Saturday Afternoon trips once
more due to Wind. We caught a few fish on a Monday afternoon trip but
had to really hunt for them. Again the one really nice day last week
was Friday and we had both boats out for Morning Trips and caught
fish, and then limited out with a nice couple (See Picture of Mickey
and Toni Stroud from Dallas ) in the Afternoon.

The White Bass and Crappie are as confused as us as one day the bite
is good and the next day you can't find a fish. Normally by April, the
action is so "Hot and Heavy" that the major problem is limiting out
too early on the Whites!!! Oh, the good ol' days!!! For our April and
May customers who have a trip scheduled with us.....Not too worry as
my prediction is that the BEST is yet too come and it should be
happening this week!!! I believe that by this coming Weekend we'll
have the bite going that makes all of us look like Bill Dance!!!

It does appear that we have another week of this unusual High Wind and
Frontal activity as we've already cancelled Monday and Tuesday trips,
and more than likely will have to wait till Friday to get on the Lake.

WE HAVE ONE BOAT OPEN for Friday Morning and the forecast is really
nice from Friday on.

Adam and I try our best to conduct the trips we've scheduled as we
know our Customers have to plan around Work, School , Family and more
to take a trip. We apologize when we do have to cancel or reschedule,
but we would rather do this than have you experience a tough or unsafe
trip. We are now booking our Saturdays for June and beyond and still
have lots of Weekdays in April and May we need to fill. Give us a call
and Let's Go Fishin'!

Thanks,

Royce & Adam Simmons

3-31-13
Fishing Friends,

Last week proved to be a good week on RC as I fished everyday except
Monday and Adam was on the Lake for three trips. The week started off
with a Cold Snap as morning temperatures were in the 30's on Monday
and Tuesday, and it was just too cold to fish or have a fun outing. My
first trip of the week was on Tuesday afternoon and the White Bass
bite was not as good as we had experienced the week before as the
cooler weather slowed the fishing a bit. The action got progressively
better Wednesday thru Friday and then we had another Weather System
come thru Friday night with some rain, and made the action slow to a
crawl on our Saturday Morning Trips. But then.....the Saturday
Afternoon trips turned out to be the BEST of the week with non-stop
Catchin' all afternoon long!

Our Saturday afternoon trips were with the Winners of the Fund Raising
effort we were involved in with All Things Outdoors (
www.allthingsoutdoors.org ) and also a Family from the DFW area. All
Things Outdoors is an awesome organization that honors handicapped or
hurting children with an experience (Hunting or Fishing) in the
Outdoors. A young man of 12 years of age (Hunter) joined me that
afternoon and we caught fish after fish after fish! What a great time
with a great group of folks!

The White Bass action is good now but will only get better as we move
into April and May. The Crappie bite has been on and off with the Cool
Fronts stopping them for a day or two , and then they move back into
the shallows to try and continue their spawn. The big Hybrid Stripers
have yet to make an appearance so this fishing can only get better!

Our Saturdays are booked till mid June, but we have lots of Weekday
openings we need to fill in April. We continue to fish about as many
afternoons as mornings and have at least one boat open on the
following upcoming Weekdays...April 8, 10, 16, 22, 23, 24, 26, 29 &
30.

Here's hoping we get to see you this Spring and have you experience
some Richland Chambers FUN!!!

3-24-13
Fishing Friends,

The weather and wind and fishing all improved on RC last week as I was
able to get in five (5) trips and Adam fished three (3). While we
still had a couple of Cool Fronts move through and even a little rain
on our Saturday Afternoon trips, this didn't spoil the enthusiasm or
FUN on any of the trips. The White Bass action improved dramatically
from the previous week, but I'd still rate is as only Fair as there
was only one trip where we had limits (25 fish per person), and on
most trips we had to do quite a bit of looking before we did our
Catchin'! The action is only going to get better as we move from Fair
to Good fishing this month, and into what is normally EXCELLENT
fishing in April and May. The Crappie fishing has been slow to improve
but I've had a couple of reports of at least some Crappie being caught
and then it seems to slow with each passing Cool Front. Looks like it
will be April before the Crappie really get on their spawn!

We've been fortunate to have our Calendar get more and more full as
folks realize that Spring is here and it's time to go Fishing! The
only Saturday opening we have between now and June is on Saturday, May
25th (Memorial Day Weekend) and if you want it, might let us know now
as we always have a waiting list on the Holidays. We have quite a few
April Weekdays that are open and LOTS of May Weekdays we need to fill.

Thanks again to all who have already fished with us this year and
we're excited about seeing those of you who haven't GONE FISHIN" yet!

Have a Great Week!

3-10-13
many are attempting to move up the creeks to spawn. This happens to
some degree every year in late Winter/early Spring and the fishing
gets a bit tough for a few days.

Adam and I consider March as the official start of the year for us as
we normally go from fishing a time or two a week to six days a week in
the Spring. As a reminder, we fish everyday except Sunday, and offer
Morning and Afternoon Trips in the March-May timeframe.

Based on the past twelve years of Guiding on RC, here's what occurs in
the Spring. Hopefully, this will help you plan and make the most of
your fishing time this year.

MARCH is when the slow bite of Winter gives way to an aggressive bite
as the water temperature warms into the high 50's, and the White Bass
& Hybrid Stripers think of spawning and eating. If the Creeks are
flowing, many of the fish will move up them to do their spawning. But,
if we experience little rainfall, the fish will spawn on the long
sloping & windy points on the Main Lake. Check out the Pelican Island
and 309 Flats areas for fish, gulls, baitfish and activity in both the
AM & PM. By mid to late March, Crappie will begin their move to the
shallow water to do their spawn. Small minnows and jigs in 1'-3' water
are deadly for these tasty fish.

APRIL is THE MONTH for consistently catching Crappie on RC. As
mentioned for March, the fish will be in the shallows and on their
beds for spawning purposes. It's lots of fun to watch that cork go
under, lift the pole and have a great big ol' slab on the hook! The
Whites and Hybrids will be finishing off their spawning activities and
most days be feeding aggressively. Keep a Rat-L-Trap and 1 oz. Slab
handy as you'll catch them feeding on top and also on the bottom.

MAY is my favorite Spring Month as the volatile weather (T-Storms &
Rain) is usually over, and the fish have settled into a pattern that
lends itself to easy limits of fish all day long. You catch fish this
time of year on Slabs, Rat-L-Traps, Tiny Torpedo's and just about any
shiny bait of your choice. Check out the South Shoreline from
Fisherman's Point to Ferguson Point for early morning activity and
then the Old 287 Roadbed for Afternoon fishing. Watch for the Gulls as
there will still be a few around to help you locate the fish.

Adam and I have had the pleasure of fishing with many folks over the
past twelve years. About half our trips are with Kids and we pride
ourselves in being able to say we truly offer "FAMILY FISHING FUN"! We
hope 2013 is the year you choose to take that first Guided Trip on RC,
or your one of the many friends who will fish with us again this year!

Good Luck and Good Fishin'!

2-25-13
Fishing Friends,

This past week was the first week since late February of 2012 that we
experienced truly "tough fishing" on RC! Seems that every year in late
Winter/early Spring we go through a week or two when we just can't
locate the big schools of fish. This occurs at the time when the fish
are wanting to Spawn, but the conditions (Temperature, Running Water
in the Creeks and Water Conditions) still aren't just right. The White
Bass and Hybrids don't totally disappear, but our catching slows to
the point that we sometimes call off trips. We haven't reached that
point yet as I conducted three trips last week and Adam fished on
Saturday Afternoon. We had anywhere between 30 and 50 Keepers each
outing, but we really had to show some patience and fish much harder
than we're used too. I did call off a Saturday Morning trip as the
temperatures were in the 30's at 7AM, and that meant a Wind Chill in
the 20's on the Lake. Just too cold to have FUN!!!

It looks like this week we'll be calling off a couple of early week
trips as the Northwest WIND kicks back in gear and we continue to get
Cool Fronts moving through the area. As many of you know we can fish
when the Wind is pretty strong and out of the South, but a North Wind
is just too much on our Lake. Here's hoping that the Fronts and the
Winds slow a bit as we get ready to begin March and our calendar fills
even more. March signals the start of Spring and we go from fishing a
day or two a week to normally six days a week. THANKS to all of you
our Spring Break Week (March 9th -16) is completely full and ALL our
Saturdays in March are completely booked. We still have quite a few
Weekdays we need to fill before and after Spring Break. We also have
one of our Friends and Part Time Guide (David Bristow) who will once
again be helping us this Spring and he still has some Spring Break
Week and Saturday openings in March. David's # is 817-312-6527.

We continue to get calls asking about the Crappie and when the spawn
will begin. It will probably be the same as the last few years with a
start in mid to late March and the BEST & MOST Crappie being caught in
April. Stay tuned for more news!

Spring is almost here and the fishing will go from tough to EASY with
catches of over a 100 White Bass the norm. I'm ready!!! It's been a
good Winter for us, we're rested and ready to go and now all we need
is a little cooperation from the fish and a call from YOU!!!! Give us
a call and Let's Go Catchin'!!!

Have a Great Week!

2-17-13
Fishing Friends,

IT'S getting closer and closer and IT'S almost here!!! What is IT?
Well, ITS our
busiest time of the year, IT'S when we catch the most fish, and IT'S
SPRINGTIME!!!

The calendar may say it's still Winter, but for the most part the fish
believe we've
already passed that Season and we're well on way into Spring. If you
haven't noticed,
the Trees (and the Weeds) believe it's Spring, the temperatures have
been mild for the
most part and the fish have pretty much been on a Springtime bite all
of January and
February!!! Adam and I have been fortunate to stay on the Lake much of
February and
the fishing has been pretty good most trips. It's not that AWESOME
bite you'll
experience in the Spring, but most trips have resulted in a nice box
of White Bass and
we've even hooked into a few of the bigger Hybrid Stripers lately.
About the only thing
more we could ask for is a little more rain to get our Lake back to
full pool level. We'll
keep our fingers crossed that March brings us some more moisture!

We're currently catching our fish on the main lake points, humps and
roadbeds in 25'
plus water. Small Slabs ( www.rsrlures.com ) with a jig teaser above
them moved very
slowwly off the bottom will result in some really Magnum Whites! Check
out the
Windsock Point, Old 287 Roadbed and Pelican Island and you'll usually
locate a school
of fish!

For those of you thinking about a Spring fishing trip, we still have
plenty of Weekdays
open, but our Saturdays are just about completely booked. Here's a
couple of upcoming
Saturdays we still have a boat available....March 2nd in the Morning
and March 9th in
the Afternoon. Thanks to all of you our Spring Break Week calendar is
full and we'll be
on the Lake everyday the week of March 11th!!!! We continue to offer
our "Package

Night Stay and
Fishing Trip than our Two Fishermen $299 Offer! We also have decided

Fishing Friends,

This past week started off great as I fished Monday and Wednesday, and
Adam fished on Tuesday AND we had easy limits (or a full box) of fish
on all three trips!!! The White Bass continue to be the largest fish
we'll catch all year as they are loaded with roe and ready to spawn
when the temperature and timing suit their liking. Adam had a couple
of BIG BLUE Catfish and Hybrids this past week, but all my catch was
White Bass. The weather turned Cooler and Windy on Friday, and our
Saturday trips were a mixed bag of trips. I attempted to get out early
with a local Couple, but it was just too Windy and we decided to call
it off after about an hour of fighting the rough conditions. Adam
started his trip around 9AM and had three Guys that braved the
elements and ended with a nice box of White Bass and one Customer
caught the largest fish (Hybrid Striper) he had ever caught. I
cancelled my Saturday afternoon trip as the Wind and a little Rain
would have made for a not so fun outing. Seems the older I get the
more inclined I am to keep the boat on the trailer when the conditions
are tough! Twenty years ago, I' would have fished yesterday afternoon!
Guess I am smarter now!!! :)

It's almost past time to book your Family Spring Break Fishing Trip.
The last couple of weeks we've had a hugh number of calls and at this
time we have a couple of openings left during the week of March 11th.
They are on March 9, 14 & 15. The same is true of our March thru May
Saturday openings. We've just about filled the calendar and only have
a couple of Saturdays where we still have a boat available. On the
other hand, we have LOTS of Weekdays open for those that can fish on a
Monday thru Friday.

Looks like there are a couple of nice days to fish this week
(especially Thursday) and we have a boat open waiting just for you!
Give us a call and Let's Go Fishin'!!!

Hope to see you soon!

2013 Jan 28 - FISHING REPORT
Well....we've actually had a little bit of Winter this year with some
recent Cold Fronts
pushing the temperatures into the 20's and 30's for a few nights and
then the warm up
comes and we're back into the 60's for a few days! We've also been
fortunate to receive
a good rain or two and the Lake Level came up a little over a foot
recently. The constant
weather changes have slowed the fishing a bit and have certainly kept
us off the Lake
more than we would like. It's just not FUN to get on the Lake if
there's a cool North Wind
and the temperatures are low. However, on the warmer days we're still
catching fish and
just looking more and more to the Spring!!!

The White Bass that we catch this time of year are really large and
we'll be catching
them all the way through early Spring when they do their spawn. We've
not had a good
Hybrid Striper bite yet, but normally we have some of our BEST Hybrid
catches from
now thru April. We continue to catch a few BIG Catfish on our Winter
trips, and it won't
be too long (March) before we start talking about the Spring Crappie
Spawn. We're
catching most of our White Bass in the traditional Wintertime
locations....Hwy 287
Roadbed, Windsock Point and a few off Pelican Island. The key to
catching these fish
is to locate them with your electronics as they will be hugging the
bottom. Then offer a
Slab raised very slowly and deliberately. The bite will often be just
a "tick" on the end of
the line. SET THE HOOK!!!

Here's a few REMINDERS AND OPPORTUNITIES for you to take advantage of:

*We continue to conduct more late mornings and afternoon trips in the
Winter as the
temps & the bite are better.

*Check out the "Winter Special" rates on the website @
www.gonefishin.biz . Our first
effort at doing "Party Boat" trips has been successful as we had both
boats going out on
a couple of January Saturdays with fishermen on board at the Party
Boat Special Rate!
Save 25% off the regular rate!!! (A "Party Boat" is one where
individual Fishermen sign
up to fish with a Group of other Fishermen.)

*If you plan on fishing with the Kids at SPRING BREAK, you need to
book the trip soon.
We have more than half the week of March 11th booked already and like
last year will
not be able to accommodate everyone wanting to fish.
*If you are planning a SPRING GROUP TRIP where you'll need two or
more boats, we
need to get your Room and Trip dates set up now so we make sure we
meet your
expectations.

*Lastly, our MARCH THRU MAY SATURDAYS are just about completely booked
at this
point. We'll be conducting Morning and Afternoon trips but you need to
get on the
calendar now for an Overnight Stay at Fisherman's Point Marina and a
Fishing Trip as
we always have to send some folks elsewhere for a Spring Saturday
trip. Here's
hoping your New Year is off to a good start and we get to see you
soon! Royce &

2013 Jan 12 - FISHING REPORT

What a great week on RC as we had a boat on the Lake on Monday,
Thursday and
Friday and we watched the wonderful rains on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The rain had
the Creeks flowing for a couple of days and our Lake Level came up
about one and a
half feet. We're still well over three feet low, but if we get normal
late Winter and Spring
rainfall, we should be in good shape as we enter the warmer months.
The fish were
biting pretty good even with the fresh water and lower temperatures as
we had around
40 really BIG White Bass in the ice chest on Monday and Thursday and
then came back
with a 50 plus fish box on Friday when the temperatures moved into the
low 70's, the
bite got more aggressive and even a big fish or two came out to play.
(See picture of
Bert Thomas of Clifton with a Hybrid Striper caught on Friday). We
decided to cancel
our Saturday trips this week with a weather forecast of rain and a
cold front coming
through in the afternoon. It's good to take an entire weekend off this
time of year as we'll
soon be in our peak Springtime mode and we'll be fishing six days a
week and often two
trips a day!

As we look ahead to the next couple of weeks, here's some information
for your
planning purposes:

*We still have our "Winter Specials" through February. ($250 for a
threesome and $325
for a foursome)

*We'll offer the PARTY BOAT SPECIAL of $80 per fisherman on SATURDAY,
JANUARY 26th. At this time we have both boats available and need a
minimum of three
fishermen in a boat. We'll schedule a mid morning start time of 10AM
to avoid the cool
temps in the early AM.

*We have one boat available on the Martin Luther King Holiday on
Monday, January
21st. Kids are out of school in most areas so Let's Go Fishin'!

*This next week, it looks like the weather will be a bit cold thru mid
week and then start
a gradual warm up into the 50's by Thursday through Saturday. We have
a boat open
each of those days and even on Saturday!

*THANKS to everyone who has emailed or called to book their Spring
fishing dates. We
still have plenty of Weekdays open, but the Saturdays in March through
May are just
about gone. If you need a Saturday date, better call now.

Here's hoping we see you soon!

Fishing Friends,

The fishing got really good last week as the weather warmed the water
temperature to around 52 degrees and the bite improved dramatically!!!
We had trips on Thursday and Saturday and I did a little scouting on
Friday and caught fish on every outing! The fish are still in deep
water and biting on small (1/2 to 1 oz. RSR Slabs www.rsrlures.com )
in 30'-40' depths. The Windsock Point near the Marina has finally
started to hold some good fish, but the majority of our really BIG
MAGNUM White Bass are coming off the Old Hwy 287 Roadbed and the Oil
Pad up the Richland Creek Arm of the Lake. We continue to catch a
Catfish or two almost every trip but are still waiting for the Hybrid
Stripers to show up in numbers. If we continue into February with
these normal to warmer temperatures, we'll be talking about Crappie
fishing in early March!

Our calendar is such that you can still call and get a Weekday trip on
short notice, but the upcoming Saturday openings are fewer and fewer.
We have a boat open almost everyday this week and still have room for
one more fisherman on a "Party Boat" this coming Saturday. The
weatherman has a good forecast for Monday and then again for Thursday
thru Saturday. Our "Winter Special" offering three for the price of
two is in effect thru February!

Lastly, it's definitely time to book your Spring Break trip with the
Kids as we're about two thirds booked the week of March 11th at this
time. We offer AM and PM trips all that week.

Thanks and hope to see you soon!

Fishing Friends,

It's officially Wintertime and the number of trips Adam and I conduct
slows dramatically, but......that doesn't mean the fish aren't
biting!!! The attached picture of the Becker Family from Arlington was
taken Wednesday after a couple of hours of Catchin' on a cold & windy
afternoon. Seems that sometimes the more tough the conditions, the
better the bite. This was evident Friday afternoon when we had both
boats out and really had to work to catch our fish. The conditions
were just the opposite from Wednesday as we had a calm, sunny and
actually warm day with temps in the 50's. Guess the fish just didn't
like the pleasant conditions!!! :)

The White Bass that we catch this time of year are really large and

Fishing Friends,

After we took a couple of days off on Monday & Tuesday to let the Cold
Front pass and the Winds die down, we got back to fishing and
conducted trips Wednesday thru Saturday. Cool & crisp Mornings and
pleasant Afternoons were the order for the week and we got them! The
fishing and catching was about as good as it gets and we finished off
the week with both boats out on AM & PM trips on Saturday, and had one
of the nicest December days we've had for a long time. We had folks
taking pictures of Sunrises and Sunsets and just really enjoying the
total fishing experience! We also had to hustle on Saturday as we
cleaned around 300 fish for our Customers!

The BIG FISH bite is on as we continue to catch some monster White
Bass, a nice Hybrid or two and a BIG Catfish on many of our trips!
This will continue until we experience some serious Winter weather
which normally occurs in February. As we head into the Christmas/New
Year timeframe, we'll take a few days off to enjoy the Kids and
Grandkids and then be right back on the Lake to take advantage of some
early Winter fishing! We have a boat open this Friday and several days
after Christmas if you want to get in on the action. We also still
have both boats open on Saturday, December 29th. The first week in
January is wide open at this point.

Here's hoping all is well with you and yours, and you're gearing up
for a wonderful Holiday with Family and Friends!

12-10-12
Fishing Friends,

What a GREAT week we had on RC as we just completed our busiest week
ever in December!!! I fished Monday thru Saturday and conducted three
Full Day Trips and four Half Day Trips. Adam fished four days and
conducted three Full Day Trips and two Half Day Trips. Sure caught,
cleaned and took pictures of a LOT of fish for a LOT of happy
customers!

We had a Lutheran Church Group book both boats for three Full Days in
order to film an Outdoor Outreach Fishing Film highlighting the World
Class White Bass Fishing on Richland Chambers. We did most of the
filming in two days and then the Fishermen, Cast and Crew took Friday
off to relax and do some FUN FISHING! We caught White Bass until we
were tired, had a few Hybrid Stripers and topped off the trip when one
of the Cameramen hooked, landed pictured and released a 50lb. plus
Flathead Catfish on Friday Afternoon. (Once again, the BIG Fish came
from Adam's Boat!) The three young men in the picture are from
Colorado, Indiana and Michigan and were the three Fishing Stars of the
Show. We continue to catch the biggest Whites of the year as they are
bulking up for Winter and an eventual Spring Spawn.

Well...the Winter weather has finally arrived today(Sunday Evening),
but the warm up will begin on Wednesday and we should be back to
normal fishing activity by Thursday. We are pretty much booked
Wednesday thru Saturday this week, but Adam still has his boat open on
Saturday Morning (December 15th). Beginning next week, we have
Weekday openings much the remainder of December and still have a boat
open on Saturday, December 29th. If you'd like to get in on some
really good Catchin' , give us a call or email.

Christmas is getting close and if you still need the perfect gift for
the Fisherperson in the Family, give us a call and we'll get a Gift
Certificate in the mail to you. And lastly, if the weather is it's
normal Seasonal temperature, the School Christmas Break is a great
time to get the Kids out of the house and on our boats!

Happy Holidays and hope to see you soon!

Royce & Adam Simmons

12-2-12
Another GREAT week on RC as I fished everyday except Tuesday and we
had both boats out a couple of days! You never know what you might
catch this time of the year as Ronnie Roberts of the Arlington Police
Department now knows! (See Picture of the BIG Yellow Catfish he caught
on Saturday Morning). EVERY Trip this past week resulted in an easy
box of quality White Bass and on several days some nice Hybrids thrown
in as a bonus. We ended the week on Saturday Morning with a 10 person
trip of 8 Adults and 2 Kiddos and we cleaned over 200 White Bass ! I
estimate the number of White Bass we cleaned in 7 trips this week to
be a little over 650 fish! My hands are still a bit sore, but this
next week promises to be even busier as I'm booked everyday and Adam
is booked on 4 days. I LOVE the Fall as the fishing is as good as it
gets, the weather is normally mild and there's no one on the Lake
except Adam, me and a couple of our Guide friends!

Here's a couple of reminders for December:

*We fish Mornings and Afternoons and the bite is equally good on both.
Mornings start at 7AM and Afternoons around 12:30PM. We fish everyday
except Sunday.

*We have Weekday openings beginning on December 11th and much of the
remainder of the Month. We also have a couple of Saturdays with a boat
open.

*Christmas School Break is a GREAT time for a Family outing.

*We have GIFT CERTIFICATES for that favorite Fisherman or Fisherwoman!

We'd love to see you during the Holidays, but if we don't here's
hoping you have a Great Holiday Season with the Family and Friends!

11-25-12
Fishing Friends,

Here's hoping all of you and yours have had a Great Thanksgiving
Holiday and are now
gearing up for the Christmas Festivities!!! My entire Family and a
some of our very best
Friends gathered at our home this year on Thanksgiving Day for all the
Food, Football
and tales of Fishing from the days leading up to Thanksgiving. And a
few tales we had!!!

Seems that the week before Thanksgiving, the fish continued to be
scattered,
sometimes a bit finicky and on a few trips we had some really tough
times getting a box
of fish for our Customers. The previous few days had been cool (and a
couple of
Mornings downright COLD) with a North Wind and a High Pressure System
sitting on
top of us. Then on Monday before Thanksgiving, the cloud cover
materialized, the wind
changed to the South and the BIG FISH bite (White Bass and an
occasional Hybrid
Striper) was on. I conducted six(6) trips in the three (3) days before
Thanksgiving and
we either limited out or had a box full of the really BIG White Bass
that RC is known for!
The Fall Feeding Frenzy has begun!!! The Afternoon bite is as good as
the Morning bite
and the fish are really putting on weight as they are bulking up with
eggs that will be laid
in the Spring.

We're catching our fish all over the Lake with the normal locations
(Windsock Point,
Pelican Island, 287 Roadbed) all holding fish. RSR Slabs in either
Silver or Chartreuse (
www.rsrlures.com ) raised somewhat slowly off the bottom will produce
the best. Watch
for the Gulls and Loons in a area as they will lead you to the where
the fish are feeding.
The bite will be like this or better until we get some really cold
weather which is normally
in January or February. The last two years we've had very little
Winter and just kept on
fishing all thru February so maybe this year will be similar with the
BIG FISH bite on for
the next several months!

Adam and I are very fortunate that our calendar continues to stay
pretty full this time of
year. We do have some Weekdays open in late November and December and
even a
couple of Saturday openings the latter part of the December. Also,
it's time to reserve
your date for when the Kids are on the Christmas School Break!

We would love to show you what few folks know and that is" Winter
fishing on Richland
Chambers for BIG FISH just doesn't get any better than in December".
Give us a call
and Let's Go Catchin'!

11-10-12
Fishing Friends,

FALL has FINALLY arrived and my TWO FAVORITE MONTHS of the year are
here!!! I love November and December for a lot of reasons that include
FAMILY, HOLIDAYS, FOOD, FUN and certainly the FISHING!!! Lake
Richland Chambers becomes our own private 45,000 acre pond this time
of the year as many folks think the fish don't bite when it gets
cooler. Also, many outdoorsmen are in the woods hunting Bambi and
there's just so many things going on that vie for people's time.
Bottom line is that there's just no one except us and the fish at
Richland Chambers this time of year! However, if you like to catch
BIG fish and LOTS of them, these two months are arguably the two BEST
of the entire year.

Magnum White Bass and Hybrid Stripers will be on their FALL FEEDING
FRENZY and loading up with eggs for their late Winter and/or Spring
Spawn. Tie on a 1 oz. or larger RSR Slab ( www.rsrlures.com ) and move
into the deeper water (30'-40') off the Windsock Point, 309 Flats or
Pelican Island. Hold on because you'll be catching the Biggest fish of
the year!

If you want to take advantage of this great Fall Fishing, give us a
call or e-mail and we'll get you on the Lake! We offer Morning and
Afternoon trips and fish everyday except Sunday.

We hope you and yours have a Great Holiday period and also hope to see
you soon!

1-4-12
Fishing Friends,

The past few Fishing Reports have mentioned a lot of the reasons Fall
is my Favorite Fishing Season of the Year (Pleasant Temperatures, Lots
of Wildlife On, In and Above the Lake, Friends who Fish with us every
Fall, Mother Nature Turning Colors, and On & On). But yesterday
reminded me of why I REALLY like the Fall best as it pertains to
fishing. As usual, Adam and I both had Morning and Afternoon Trips on
Saturday. We begin them at 7AM, try and be in from the first trip
around 11:30AM and clean fish and get back out at 12:30PM. Some days
you have to do a lot of hunting before you can do a lot of catchin',
but yesterday was not one of them. Big Fish including Magnum White
Bass & some Hybrids and Catfish were the norm for the day! I caught
all my AM Trip fish off the 309 Flats and the 287 Roadbed and Adam's
Group caught all their fish off the Windsock Point. For both of our
trips in the PM, we never left the Windsock Point. I'm not sure how
many fish our Customers caught yesterday, but we cleaned LIMITS for
all for a total of 250 fish for all four trips. We even called off our
PM trip after about 3 hours due to a Thunderstorm in the area. BIG
Fish, easy to find and very cooperative.....now that's Fall Fishin'
and it appears hear to stay till at least we get some serious Winter
which is usually February!

This next week we have Weekday openings for the AM & PM, and we still
need to fill the Saturday Morning (November 10th) open slot. The
weatherman has predicted a near perfect week with 70 degree days and
South Winds. It doesn't get much better than this! Give us a call or
e-mail and we'll go catchin'!

PS: First time Customers Joe & Trish Plemons from Houston are shown in
the picture. I don't think they will ever fish with me after their
Afternoon trip with Adam. LOTS of BIG FISH!!!!

11-2-12
Fall arrived late Thursday as the Cold Front brought some much
anticipated cooler temperatures, a brisk North Wind and the promise of
some Great Fishing over the next few weeks! We had a boat out on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week, but called off our
Friday and Saturday Morning Trips as the North Wind just wouldn't
allow a FUN and Safe Trip. However, as you read this, we'll be back on
the Lake for our Saturday Afternoon trips with a couple of Families
that fish with us regularly.

The Crappie bite was still good on Tuesday morning as we caught some
really good fish early before going and filling the box with White
Bass. On Wednesday and Thursday Mornings we had some of the better
White Bass (Size and Quantity) of the early Fall as we literally
loaded the box with Magnum fish! Thursday Afternoon was a FUN trip
with a Family from Waco who had relatives in from Sweden. We had 6
Adults and a 5 year old aboard and we were a bit challenged by a brisk
South Wind before the Front blew through. Still, we had over 60 fish
for the Family Fish Fry! The fishing and catching is just going to get
better over the next few weeks as the water temperatures will finally
start to cool, the fish will go on an aggressive feeding pattern and
the females start to produce eggs for their spawn in a few months.

We have Weekday openings next week and we have a couple of November
Saturdays with still one boat open...November 10th AM and the 17th &
24th in the PM. If you'd like to enjoy a nice Fall day of Fishing,
give us a call or e-mail and we'll go Catchin'!

Have a Great Day!

Fishing Friends,

Fall finally arrived about a week ago on Lake Richland Chambers and it
feels SO GOOOOOOD to be out on the Lake in the brisk early morning
cool temps and the really pleasant afternoon warm sunshine. We conduct
about as many afternoon trips in the November/December timeframe as we
do morning trips and catch just as many or more fish! We're seeing
LOTS of Gulls, Pelicans and Ospreys arrive with the recent Cool Snaps
and soon they'll be really helping out to locate the feeding fish!

The Crappie bite was still good last week as we caught some good fish
on a trip early in the morning before going and filling the box with
White Bass. On several recent morning trips we had some of the better
White Bass (Size and Quantity) of the early Fall as we literally
loaded the box with Magnum fish and the bigger Hybrid Stripers are
starting to show up each morning on the 309 Flats. In other words,
just about all the fish are starting to aggressively feed and it will
be this way from now till we get some serious Winter (if we do this
year) temperatures. Fish will be in the 20'-30' water depths most days
and the bait of choice for us is the RSR Silver Shad Slab (
www.rsrlures.com ). Check out the Windsock Point, Pelican Island and
the 309 Flats and you'll usually find fish!

We have Weekday openings over the next few weeks and just prior to
Thanksgiving, but our Saturdays are booked till the Christmas Holidays
when we do have a boat open on the last couple of Weekends. If you'd
like to enjoy a nice Fall day of Fishing, give us a call or e-mail and
we'll go Catchin'!

Have a Great Day!

Fishing Friends,

Cool crisp mornings, lots of leaves turning colors, waterfowl showing
up on the area lakes, and pleasant afternoons with the fish biting!
Like the old saying goes....It doesn't get much better than this!!!

October through December fishing is normally GOOD and if you happen to
be on the Lake at just the right time, it can be AWESOME. We still
haven't cooled down to just the perfect temps for the fish to begin
their Fall Feeding Frenzy, but it's just around the corner. I'm now on
the Lake conducting trips everyday except Sunday, and Adam is fishing
about four days a week due to his Family Scheduling around Kiddo's,
Preschool, Brooke's Work schedule and all the activities associated
with 3 month and 3 year old Daughters!

The Crappie bite slowed down this past week, the Hybrid Striper
activity picked up a bit and the White Bass action was good all week
up until Saturday morning when we had to "work for" the fish we
caught. Continual small Cool Fronts and some brisk Winds challenged us
a couple of days, but in the end we caught fish on all our trips and
loaded the box on a couple! Our White Bass and Hybrid Stripers are
being caught on RSR Chartreuse Minnow & Silver Shad Slabs (
www.rsrlures.com ) in depths of 25'-35' and mostly off Pelican Island
and the Windsock Point. The 'Sock" has been especially good in the
Afternoons with large schools of fish hanging out in the area.

We're completely booked this week, but have Weekday openings beginning
the week of October 22nd and continuing through the end of the month.
We had a couple of Saturday changes in the coming months and now have
a boat open on the following Saturdays:

November 3rd....Afternoon
November 10th..Morning
November 24th..Afternoon (Thanksgiving Weekend and we still have both
boats open)

December 8th...Morning and Afternoon
December 22nd & 29th....Morning and Afternoon

Hope your Fall has gotten off to a great start and we get to see you
soon!

Fishing Friends,

What a nice week on Richland Chambers even though we did make the
decision to cancel Saturday's trips and enjoy the much needed rain! I
fished combo trips on Monday and Tuesday for early AM Crappie and then
on to the White Bass, and had good results on both days! My good
friend Ronnie Roberts from the Arlington PD joined me on Monday and we
managed to get him a 25 fish limit of Crappie and then caught some
White Bass for him to give to a friend. On Tuesday, Kevin & Jeff
Pellone from San Antonio caught their Crappie and Whites early as the
WIND forced us off the Lake around 10AM. On Friday, the Baird Family
(See Picture) from Austin were on board for a White Bass trip and we
had the BEST trip I've had in several weeks. We put 75 nice big Whites
in the ice chest with all coming off the Windsock Point and Old Hwy
287 Roadbed on Chartreuse RSR Minnow Slabs ( www.rsrlures.com ). All
our Crappie came on small minnows in about 20' water around the 287
Bridge Columns. The Crappie bite should be good through most of
October! The Fall Feeding Frenzy for Whites and Hybrids is not far off
as the fish are getting a bit easier to find and catch and the size is
starting to improve. It won't be long before we can conduct some
Afternoon trips and be comfortable as well as catch lots of fish!

It's definitely time for you to call or e-mail if you want an October
or November trip. All our October Saturdays are booked and Novembers'
are just about taken, but we have lots of Weekdays we need to fill. If
you're planning a Group trip where you need two or more boats, we have
a Part Time Guide (David Bristow) who is helping us through the busy
times and can help us meet your needs. Also, if you want to have us do
a Shore Lunch Fish Fry for the Group, we'll be offering this, and can
also make accommodations at the Marina's Lodge or Cabins for you. It
doesn't get much better than an October or November fishing Trip!!!! I
used to say October was my favorite fishing month, but in the past
couple of years I've switched to November. NO ONE is on the Lake, the
fish are BIG & EASY and we guarantee a GREAT CATCH!!!

Have a Great Day, Enjoy the Rain and Hope to see you soon!

RICHLAND CHAMBERS FISHING REPORT

FALL is finally here and it's time to enjoy some cool, brisk Mornings
and pleasant Afternoons on the Lake!

October through December is an absolute GREAT Season on Richland
Chambers as the water temp stays in the high 60's and low 70's and the
bite is very aggressive! The lake level is currently down about 3',
all the boat ramps are
accessible and over 40,000 acres of water to fish. Fall has finally
arrived and it's time to catch some BIG fish!

In the Fall, we focus most of our attention on the White Bass and
Hybrid Stripers as the fish will be aggressively feeding and entering
into what I call their FALL FEEDING FRENZY! However, don't forget the
Crappie are also on a great bite in the early Fall!

The best locations for the Whites and Hybrids will be the Windsock
Point, the Hwy 309 Flats and the Old Hwy 287 Roadbed. Fish will be
hugging the bottom most days and a Silver or Chartreuse Glitter Slab
worked slowly off the bottom will produce good quantities as well as
quality fish. Fish the 25'' water and deeper. However, always keep
your eyes open for the Gulls as they will save you a lot of time
finding the fish. The Gulls will be searching for the Shad being
pushed up to the surface by the feeding fish. I'll be changing my line
to 14 lb. test and stronger as the Hybrid Striper bite will kick in
gear. Some are in the 5 lb. size and larger, and they are VERY VERY
Strong. Be sure and loosen the drag on your reel as the first few
seconds of a Hybrid strike is when you will often loose or break off
the fish.
The largest Hybrid I've ever had caught by a Customer (and the third
largest ever caught on RC) was a 15.51 lb. fish caught on December
22nd a few years ago. Don't let the cool weather keep you from trying
to catch the BIG ONE!

Several bits of info you may find useful are:

Many of you have requested to buy some of the Slabs I use. David
Walker with RSR Lures is the Manufacturer of Glitter Slabs and will be
able to supply as many of the Slabs as anyone may want. He can be
reached at 866-650-6811. Check out his Website for sizes and
types of Slabs at www.rsrlures.com . As many of you know, I use the
Silver and Chartreuse Glitter in the Shad and Minnow shapes. You can
also find them at Edward's Hardware and Gander Mtn.

Adam and I fish everyday except Sunday and offer Morning Trips
beginning around 7AM and Afternoon Trips beginning around 1PM. We can
accommodate Group Trips of just about any size and offer a "Shore
Lunch" Fish Fry for those Groups fishing on a Weekday.
Check out our "Package Special" if you want an Overnight Stay as we
have the BEST OFFER available of a Fishing Trip for Two, Cabin and
Lunch for only $299.

Most importantly, spend some time with the Family during this
wonderful time of the year! A day on the Lake is great way to do just
that!

Hello Everybody,

ISAIAH 58: Verses 9:

Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; Thou shalt cry, and He shall say. Here am I. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity.

SAM RAYBURN;

Well it is good to see the killer heat wave over for now. Bass were really slow for about 3 weeks. But now with scattered storms and a little cooler weather from 103 to 90's is cooler to me.

The Bite has been really great. 20-25 Bass per day is common now and the key word is Shad.

Water has been slightly stained on most of the Lake with water temps running about 82-84 degrees. Lots of grass beds everywhere with lots of Bass.

You can really pick your favorite pattern and catch right now. Bass will hit frogs in the thick stuff or spinnerbaits and rattle traps in shad patterns. Also Crankbaits in shad patterns will catch. The shallow bite has been good but some real Giants have been caught 12-15 ft. deep on DD22's and Carolina rigs.

Texas rigged 10 inch worms worked in the pockets produced a 24 lb. sack last saturday in 6-10 ft. grass.

Have a good time and if you do not know the Lake and need a Guide and want to learn some patterns call me at 903-478-2633 or 903-724-1203 or E-mail me at my new E-mail donmat@windstream.net. You can also go to my web-page which is matternguideservice.fghp.com.
