Striper.
I have dedicated most of my adult life to the pursuit and understanding of this great fish. Guiding is much more than a profession to me, it has become a way of life. The excitement of watching clients catch their first Striper brings back memories of some of my first fish.
After becoming so interested in the Striper, I began not only fishing for them constantly but, I studied them. I made a commitment to learn everything that I could about their biological make up and the habits of Stripers. I have worked with the Department of Fish and Wild Life as a part of the Striper Management Team and I am in constant contact with the department concerning stocking rates and the current status of Stripers not only in Lake Cumberland but, all of Kentucky. When Stripers were first stocked in Cumberland it was one of the country's early stocked Striper Lakes. Methods were limited and knowledge of the fish and their habits were minimum. Through hard work and thousands of hours on the water I have developed many techniques for catching Stripers that are currently being used all over the country.
I have come a long way since the early days of Striper Fishing on Lake Cumberland. We have learned how to produce trophy fish in great numbers on a year round basis. I have taught many seminars and published several articles on Striper Fishing for the purpose of educating and teaching fishermen how to catch Stripers in all rivers and lakes.
