We usually aren't fishing for Catfish until October or even later in the year, but the water temperature has cooled, the bait fish are moving up the Creeks and the Catfish bite has been dependable on all our trips. We're not catching the larger Blues yet but any day now, we anticipate the BIG FISH bite to improve! We are catching LOTS of smaller Cats mixed in with Keeper Size fish and having plenty of action resulting in plenty of fish fry material for our Customers! We are fishing along the Richland Creek Channel in timber at depths of around 25' feet of water. No surprise as to what we're catching all our fish on and it's Danny Kings Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook. We often start fishing right off the bottom, but we also have to adjust the depth to where we get the best bite. Usually by mid morning, we're catching Cats at about 6' feet off the bottom and sometimes even less deep. The bite is often "very light" so you need to watch the tip of the pole and the line for the slightest indication of a fish bite. Then....set the hook!!! It usually takes a while for our Customers to get the hang of Catfishing, but when they do, they catch little ones, keepers and sometimes the fish of a lifetime!
If this sounds like FUN, give us a call and Let's Go Fishin'! We've got lots of upcoming Weekday openings and even a Saturday or two available when we get into late Fall. Check us out at www.gonefishin.biz or call at 903-389-4117.
