Fishing Friends,


Here's hoping everyone has had a GREAT 4th OF JULY HOLIDAY and got the Summer off to a wonderful start! In addition to a full week of fishing, I got to spend a fun Saturday Afternoon of visiting and doing the traditional Hamburger and Hot Dog Cookout and celebrating Independence Day with my Kids and Grandkids! 🙂 Doesn't get much better than this as we're fortunate to have great Customers who have become even better friends and choose to fish with us each Summer and then Adam and I spend time with our own Family!


This past week was an interesting and fun one as we had the annual "Cousins Camp" trip with the Ivy Family from Corsicana, Weekday Trips with regulars from Houston, DFW and Central Texas fished with us, Lake Area friends entertaining Guests, and a Couple from Waco taking a "Learn the Lake" trip on their first visit to RC! The weather and fish cooperated every day till Saturday when a Rain Cloud hung over the Lake till around 9AM and then the East Wind bounced us around much of the trip. We had good Top Water schooling of White Bass several days and a good Slab bite on other days. Summer fishing and catching gets a little challenging on the Holidays and Saturdays as the boat traffic increases and the Lake goes from almost zero traffic on Weekdays to lots of recreation and fishing activity on the Weekends. We try and get on the Lake early, catch our fish and then leave the Lake to the skiers and jet skiers. 🙂
