Fishing Friends,


The first really HOT Summertime Week was a week of ups and downs as far as the Fishing and Catching was concerned! Not only were the temperatures in the 90's every day, but the normally nice early morning breeze was absent most days! This made for a slick lake and some tough fishing on a couple of days as on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, we had to "Work" for our fish! On Monday, Thursday and Friday, we had the more normal Richland Chambers White Bass bite and had full Ice chests of fish. (See PIcs) We had the first of the Summer Top Water Schooling Activity on Thursday and Friday and had our 75 and 125 fish limits in less than 2 hours both days! A Mepps Spinner steadily reeled in or a Slab ripped across the surface was deadly! 🙂 We normally only conduct Morning Trips in the Summer due to the heat, but on Friday the Son-In-Law, Grandson and a Friend fished a couple of late afternoon hours with me and we did well as the fish were on a Main Lake Point and we caught them on Slabs.


Summertime fishing is usually productive, but it can be a bit frustrating! I'll use my Wednesday trip as an example when we had only 5 fish in the ice chest after three hours of fishing on a hot and still morning! My three fishermen hung in there and at 10 am we found an aggressive and feeding school of fish and went from 5 fish to our 75 fish limits in 1 hour! 🙂 RC rarely disappoints the fishermen but it can make you exercise some patience and perseverance!
