Fishbuster Charters' Captain Dave Hanson reported, "Friend, John Obremski, his dad, J.T., and his sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Tom, fished 20 miles west of New Pass with me on Monday, 11/23, in building seas ahead of a weather front. The group used squid to box a 13-inch lane snapper, a 13-inch mangrove snapper, and a couple dozen of four dozen total grunts caught. They released an 18-inch lesser amberjack, a flounder short, a cobia short, and two dozen red grouper to 19 ½ inches.
Friend, Brad Miller, fished southern Estero Bay with me Tuesday morning, 11/24, using live shrimp for bait. We caught 21 sheepshead, including three keepers, two of which measured 14 inches and one at 18 inches. We had about a 24-inch snook on the line, until it released itself boat-side, depriving us of a photo. We also released a 3-pound stingray.
On a short Estero Bay outing with my wife on Saturday, 11/28, we used live shrimp to box four keeper sheepshead to 15 inches and a 15-inch black drum, replenishing our fish taco supply."
